1. Not even remotely similar situations.
2. Did I really have to qualify that the goalie actually has to be IN the net? Like it or not Anderson's positioning forced Smyth to shoot to a spot where he couldn't score, end of story.
3. Galiardi didn't hit the post.

I can't believe you're seriously arguing this. Just because Smyth hit the upper 90 doesn't mean that's the ONLY place Anderson left him to shoot. Smyth just barely missed his spot.

News flash: Jim Fox was joking when he said "goalies will tell you they only gave him the post."

From an all-around perspective, Drewiske > Jones

I don't see why DD44 can't play, I feel a lot more comfortable with him back there

A game where refs hand a handful of penalties to DIVEALANCHE?
Unheard-of.

Avs fan here, just wondering why you guys are hating on JJ. Just look at how terrible our D is, we'll gladly take him off your hands

Good game guys, lots of fun in Kings-Avs matchups. A playoff series would be quite entertaining for the neutral fan, likely heart attack central for us fans of the two teams though.

That was what your GM wanted in return for Smyth. And you ended up with Preissing!

This is an absolutely perfect post.

I am not offering this as an excuse either, because you are spot on, but his post-Olympic play has been as bad as he has played so far in the NHL. I do believe that this is he most hockey he has ever played in one season. College seasons are much shorter, and he has yet to play a full season in the NHL. I know he's a gym rat, but there looks to be some mental fatigue in his game.

I'm serious about this - Jack Johnson should be playing in the #6 role right now - 10-12 minutes a night at tops.

I'm a JJ supporter, never understood why everyone hates on him, he has lapses at times, but he's getting better. We're just spoiled with Drew Doughty lol, so we tend to compare all our defenseman to him

I swear, this place

One of the hardest fought, best efforts of the SEASON by the Kings and knuckleheads are whining about Johnson and Ersberg.

And ironically the player getting the most love is Richardson, he of the 3 high sticking penalties

I missed a majority of the first, but I didn't see anything wrong with Johnson's play from the 2nd period on. In fact, him and Doughty (no surprise) were the two best defenseman in the 3rd and in OT. Jack made some good pinches and plays keeping the puck in the Avalanche zone. I guess some fans need a scapegoat to point at for every loss, despite a well played game... whiners.

We wouldn't be Kings fans if we didn't blame a player or two after a game. Tonight's lucky winners are JJ and EE.

Quick will start tomorrow night. Murray was critical of Quick's play. Quotes coming...

This should be as fun as Murray description of Jones' play.

So... If Jim Fox said it was a great goal, you'd be pounding on your keyboard and yelling "NO! It was a terrible goal! AUGH!"?

I just got back from the game. Complete BS calls by the refs in the first period. The Kings REALLY missed Greene tonight with all of those penalty kills in the first period.

I must say that Avs fans are some of the whiniest douches ever. Worse than Ducks fans.

After that ridiculous 1st period, Avs fans topped it by complaining about non-calls every single time one of their players was knocked down.

Ersberg sucks at shootouts.

Not listening to what he says != contradicting everything he says.

I disagree. Randy Jones may have been the best defenseman on the ice tonight, from start to finish. Johnson was missing opportunities for tape to tape breakout passes juts because he waited too long to move the puck - it's a major flaw in his game right now - the natural flow of the game dies on JJ's stick. Forwards move up ice, waiting to get passes in stride, and Jack takes too long to make up his mind.

You don't have to make glaring give aways in order to have a negative impact on the game. Nobody is pointing at him as a reason for the loss, just simply stating the obvious.

Jones did virtually everything "right" tonight - smart pinches, drove the center lane on the attack, stick to stick passing - it was a nearly flawless game from a much maligned player.
