I'm not sure if that's the case. Neither are from the Massachusetts are. I think if that were the case they would have signed in with Boston (Providence is pretty close, and they'd have a chance to play in Boston).

It takes 100 midgets to get a Martin St. Louis, we only need 87 more. Unfortunately, it is more like 100,000, but it adds some offensively capable depth for a Wooster team that could be without their top 2 scorers next year.

I think Wilson knows that his forward prospect depth is ugly and he absolutely has to find to another top 6 forward to help replenish it. One of our top 6 will be gone next year, and Marleau, Heatley, and Thornton are already pushing or older than 30. Ferrrerio could very well be a top 6 forward in the future, and I think Doug is looking for another to fill that role.

Even if all of the midgets (Vesce, Treleaven, Marcou, Qurik) are complete and total failures, I still like Wilson going after highly skilled fast players, to see if he can grab a dark horse steal.

You won't find too many 6'4, offensive dynamos, who skate like the wind fall through the cracks. Every once in a while, you find a top 6 or even first line forward who everyone else gave up on (St. Louis, Briere, hell, I wouldn't mind another Scott Nichol).

Mike Moore and Benn Ferrerio look like free NHL players. This is an area that Doug should be commended in, even if there is plenty to criticize lately.

More and more teams are learning the college free agents only cost some money to see if they can play, and in most cases their costs are low enough so if you hit only one out of five you're doing great.

Have you guys seen him play? Other than his size is there some knock against him? His stats sure seem to indicate the boy can play. As Matt, even if they don't become the next St. Louis, the next Scott Nichol is a good find. Plus, there have been plenty of small NHL players who succeed, it's not that rare, just kind of rare. I'm hoping for the next Steve Sullivan, I always liked Sully

Not really a downside to these moves. Swing for the fences and if they work out you've gained some NHL talent on the cheap. If they don't work out, you've probably still at the very least staffed the AHL which helps developing prospects because your minor league system has the depth that you can bring guys along at the right pace.

maybe they are signing these guys to make it more attractive for Justin Braun to sign
(Irwin and Marcou were teammates at U Mass).
I believe that if Braun does not sign by Aug. 15 he becomes a ufa.....
It's shocking to me that Braun is not considered to be in the top 20 Shark Prospects here on HF.
