Supposedly, the length of the song as performed in the studio was 20+ minutes and Ringo had blisters from playing so much.
Yeah, that's what I read, too. This is quite possibly the biggest understatement of ever, but those dudes were crazy.
Apparently "Twist and Shout" had to be the very last song they recorded on Please Please Me because Lennon absolutely screamed it out, and it would have been impossible to do anything else after, because his voice would be spent.
Anyway, I could go on and on about the Beatles all night, but back to the subject at hand:
Flyers, win. Last night should have been your statement game, but I guess I'll settle for a good one vs Minne....
We are in immediate danger of no longer being in the top 8. If there ever was a "must win" scenario, it's these next few games here.
Actually It's not as bad as you(or I) would think. I posted this earlier today:
0 wins in final 9 games: 99% chance to be eliminated
1 win in final 9 games: 87% chance to be eliminated
2 wins in final 9 games: 47% chance to be eliminated
3 wins in final 9 games: 12% chance to be eliminated
4 wins in final 9 games: 1% chance to be eliminated
5 wins in final 9 games: <1% to be eliminated
Iíd bet that four wins in the final nine games are attainable (letís say: Islanders, Maple Leafs, one of the two against the Rangers and one of the other five teams). That would likely give the Flyers a seventh place finish (and their division winner, likely Pittsburgh) in the first round.
The goal is always as many wins as possible. But the Flyers should be realistically shooting for at least 5 wins, which would likely land them a sixth place finish and the Northeast division winner Ė probably Buffalo.
It would take six or more wins to get to fifth place. Thatís not going to be easy.
Then again, nothing is easy at this point in the season. Not for this team.
I actually like those lines listed. The only thing I think we should switch is Asham and Carcillo. Asham should be on the 4th line and I could see a line of JVR-Powe-Carcillo buzzing and causing major havoc..
Oddly enough, PIT and NJD are the only playoff teams we've played decently against this year.
Yeah but they are in a much better position now than we are and last few times we've played them we've been at 100% or close to it. At this point, I just don't want to play NJ or PIT because I can't stand facing their fans.
