TSN: Shots To The Head Now A Suspendable Offense

It was buried in the last Russo blog, but the NHL has given Colin Campbell to hand out additional punishment for hits to the head on unsuspecting players. I'm glad to see this rule implemented after all the last couple fiascos but here's hoping it is not overused.

There's also a nice little video package over at NHL.com of illegal and legal hits (note: the entire thing sounds like a lawyer wrote it). There's a surprise if you make it through the first four and a half minutes though.

Yeah, I think that this is a good thing because Cooke's hit and Richard's hit are not good things to have in the game.
