I'll say this, if Backlund plays well, I will be a lot more excited for the recent signings. I think they are good projects either way, but if Backlund plays well it will be a good confidence in Homer and Co.'s scouting abilities. Nobody has really given Backlund a chance (and rightfully so, hasn't really done anything) so tomorrow is his big day. Can't do much worse than Boosh has done!
Understatement. If he does nothing, we let him walk.
If he salvages a few games and gets us into the playoffs, and manages to hold onto the reins (even if only loosely), we probably re-sign him.
This stretch of games is everything to his future in Philadelphia, IMO.
Sadly, that last part's probably true. It's the kind of way this team is run. We threw him to the wolves and he struggled, screw him. Or he went in untested and did well, give him too much money and years and annoint him as the savior.
Hartnel needs to look in the mirror and put his money where his mouth is.
He had a quote about talk being cheap following his bit about needing to improve certain areas, though not in those words.

His good buddy shooter must receive money on the back end of some of these contracts he hands out. That is the only rational explanation.
I don't think you're even a Flyers fan. You're like a hockey fan that just happens to watch a lot of Flyers.
I haven't seen him at all except for a period of preseason on 11" laptop, but if he can stop the first shot he'll be an improvement over Boucher. Sometimes it's more the style of goalie than anything else and this team can clear the rebounds better than most teams in the league.
