I'm hoping he is good defensively or has nice mobility... because his numbers look very, very average. I'm sure there must be some aspect of the game he excels at, otherwise Gillis wouldn't have signed him. BTW, how was he signed anyway? I always thought that an undrafted junior player who was draft-eligible could only be signed for a short period after the draft. Obviously I am wrong.
It looks like he was a d-man that they moved to center...
Won some Portland Winterhawk award for "character"

I can't official confirmation, but this is coming form his Dad. Stefan Schneider has signed a 3 year entry level deal with the Canucks. Stefan is 6'4, 205 lbs and is a shutdown c-man for the Winterhawks (played a year with the giants as a 17 year old). He was a d-man, but former Canucks assistant coach, Mike Johnson, saw something else with him and converted him to a defensive c-man position last season.
I had the pleasure of coaching Stefan in Midget AAA and he is one of the best kids I have ever coached and even when he was 15, playing with 17-18 year olds, he was our go to guy. He may not ever play with the Nucks, but he is a terrific player, skates like the wind and thinks the game better than anyone I've ever coached.
I can't find official confirmation other than a Winterhawks blog link, but I'm pretty sure it's true, and the fact that Johnson is his Jr coach makes this rumour very plausible.
Congratulations Stefan, good things come to people who deserve it and you deserve it.
edit: Confirmation from Stefan himself that he signed the deal yesterday.
