Rangers recall Corey Locke from Wolf Pack. Have used 3 of 4 post-deadline recalls permitted. Better save last one for playoffs.

Never realized that.

He should be a Locke for the Islanders game. If he plays well enough, we should probably Locke him up for next year.

Nice!! Congracts for Locke, he deserves it!

I've been saying the whole year to give him a shot.

This is Locke's 5th season in the AHL, he'll be fine.

We've got nothing else to lose either. I guess Torts really doesn't want Lisin in the lineup for these games, unless Lisin ends up dressing and Locke is just an insurance move. I don't see Voros being scratched, Voros-Jokinin-PAP was a pretty good line the other night.

If they expect Cally and Avery to miss time in the 1st round if we make it, I don't see the big deal

Recalls are allowerd once a minor league club's season ends. The way it looks now the Wolf Pack won't make the playoffs, so this shouldn't be an issue. Emergency callups are still allowed as well.

Torts on Parenteau and Locke being recalled: "This isn't about development...we need them to score goals"

I remember being baffled by the fact that this kid put up 150 points in his draft year (the almighty 2003) and yet was completely overlooked. I've read the book on him (small, slow, blah blah blah), but since then I've seen him do nothing but put up numbers everywhere he goes. I'm interested in this move for no other reason than I finally get to SEE this guy play. I really want to see for myself how such a prolific junior/minor league scorer has only gotten himself one NHL game in 7 years.

theres only 1 word for that lineup. hillarious.

line 1 = a 3rd line centerman at wing. a waiver wire pu at center and a superstar.

line 2 has voros on it. nuf said.

the 3rd line is a joke. corey locke is not a checker. hes soft and hes not very big. and any line with capt quaalude is goin no where.

the best line might be the 4th line.

wheres dane friggin byers ???? a guy who could actually be useful.

and where"s lisin?? i mean, geesh, did he kill the torts family pet or something ??

If locke plays on a line with drury I don't know if it would be at center as you'd probably want the most defensively responsible player possible in that role. out of drury/paranteau/locke, its probably drury. Also interested in seeing how this goes, I really agree with a previous poster in that heikk shouldve been called up over eriksson, but I think this is a good move.

Too bad Aaron Ness isn't on the Isles yet. Would've liked to see him go up against Locke

IMO I don't see Torts switching up the 3 lines he can keep in tact from last game.

If Drury's the first forward back on the backcheck, it doesn't really matter who's playing center.

Give me reasons as to why you think these three players are aweful? Is it how much they are paid? Is it because they aren't 30 to 40-goal scorers?

I think all three do their jobs pretty well. Dubi is a 20-goal scorer who fights thru checks, stands up for his teammates and doesn't play on the perimeter. Drury is a shot-blocker who kills penalties, and Anisimov is a rookie who is getting used to the NHL...

If you don't mind me asking, why? Did I miss something?

Also, I liked Ness in his draft year(2 years ago?). I was in favor of the Rangers drafting him, very skilled blue-liner.
