Move over, Walker...you now have competition for the "players that should probably just keep their traps shut" title.
Doesn't Eaton realize(as Walker doesn't) that this lockout could be destroying small market teams...the only reason he ever even got a sniff at the NHL? Think of how long he was a mediocre defenseman before he finally broke out last year. Ten less teams and he never would have even garnered a second look...but now he has this cavalier attitude in regard to the union's position? Puh-leeeease.
Let me also drop a little knowledge on Mr. Mark Eaton.
You were easily top pairing on our defense last season along with Kimmo Timonen. Dan Hamhuis pushed you for ice time as he has more talent than you but less strength, knowledge and experience than you did last season. Meanwhile Dan and another highly talented young defenseman Ryan Suter are both playing together and gaining experience in the AHL this year while you sit out and work out on your own. I don't think it would have changed your playing time much this season. However, another half a season together and these guys might be primmed for the NHL, ready to take your place in the line-up. The will be older stronger, in better game shape, and more talented. How do you think this will effect your career earnings? Come on you're a Notre Dame guy, surely you're smart enough to see you might be sticking the fork in your own career. The window for the NHL is small, and it might just be closing around you, you might want to quit pushing.
Dubnyk, really? Could we find a weaker back-up? I mean what is Mike Dunham doing?
