If the team won against Nashville would you feel better? Or is it, win a couple more games and then maybe?
You're getting a little ahead of yourself here talking about beating Nashville (universal impossibility--it's actually been scientifically proven) and winning a couple games (another impossibility).
Meh, won't happen. Doughty can't be demoted because no one can fill his shoes. The closest is Jack and he just doesn't have it right now. Kopitar on the other hand could probably use a demotion for a game. I mean, why not? He is the only player that hasn't been moved to another line/position. We are going to scramble them anyway, might as well put Parse-Richardson-Simmonds up there for the next experiment.
Obviously he won't bench them. I don't.....something gotta change.
How do the Kings expect to beat Nashville? They're actually playing for something. The Kings just got beat by the Wild/Blues/Stars; teams all eliminated from the playoffs. The Predators are on a roll, and they'll beat the Kings by at least 3 goals.
Start Bernier...time for that kid to take the reins. Quicker went downhill, and I don't know where his head is at.
Meh. I would vote against putting in a rookie goaltender 7 games before the season's end and handing him the keys to the Winnebago... Or Failabago if you prefer. Quick is the number one right now. He needs to finish this season. Bernier really should finish his Manchester season. Personally, I don't think Bernier is going to turn us around very much. It may add a spark, but there is no telling how effective that spark will be. I doubt they will go on an offensive tear just because Bernier is backstopping the team.

Well bud why don't we start by adding more because the main freaking purpose for defenders is to defend.. Have they done that?
Obviously not, because we are getting lit up like crazy on the PK and on 5-5.
Yes but all 3 of them have questionable foot speed. Like I said its nice to have 1-2 of those guys on your blueline but I certainly wouldnt want 3 guys on my defence unit that really cant create anything by skating the puck out of danger. In the new NHL defensive only defencemcen are getting more and more exposed because most of them are slow or have stone hands. Again O' Donell really shouldnt be seeing much icetime at all.

They should food poison the preds. Then they'll call up a couple of AHLers and they will still win.
they have to do something, players only meeting something, like christ how can you be challenging phoenix for 4th and now are barely keeping your head above water. Hopefully Bernier can show why he's the goaltender of the future tomorrow
I would love to see a stat of Jarret Stoll's Power play shots and break down how many where on net... Not even how many he scored. I can only think of ONE time he did score and i'm not 100% on that. but how many times has he hit the net to how many times he's either missed by a mile or shot it off the player standing directly in front of him.
and how is Doughty not the one set up to take that shot. HOW! or even Kopitar. I saw them try that on the last power play and guess what... We got shots on net. This coaching staff is terrible. just terrible. I don't not know enough about hockey that i should be out smarting an NHL coach on the game. I really shouldn't.. I'm a fan!
I agree. The only reason I bring up tomorrows game is because the team has failed numerous times to beat the Preds. Maybe having Bernier in net will change something for the team, I have no idea. Just trying to keep on the positive side for some damn reason.

Well, Bernier will be in net? It's not completely impossible. sigh
I watch about one Kings game a week. They have become my second favorite team. The one thing that is evident each time I watch the Kings play is ------
A.) Sean O' Donnell is no longer capable of playing in the NHL. I'm sure he's a positive influence in the dressing room but hes a liability on the ice. He frequently fumbles/bobbles/caughs up the puck. He consistanly gets burned with opposing speed and makes some eye opening defensive blunders. There was a sequence in the third period tonight where he had the puck over by the boards in the defensive zone. He tried about 2-3 times to hack it out (was a very routine play) and wasnt able to get it out on any of the attempts, and the Wilds stripped him of the puck and got a good chance on Quik. Good team guy but really he shouldnt be seeing anywhere near the icetime he does.
B.) Your team has too many defensive only defencemen. Greene, Scudari, O Donnell is too many. Its one thing to have 3 guys who are good in there own zone that can also skate and move the puck but really none of those 3 can do those things. You guys would look so much better with a big minute eater thats a elite puckmover, especially to have out there numerous times with Doughty. Kaberle would be a good fit for your team. I just think you have too much grit/plodding defencemen and really need another guy whos very good at moving the puck.
Stoll didnt have a good game tonight. He was shooting it WAY too much on the 5 on 3. He also missed the net on a bunch of shots tonight and made some questionable defensive plays imo.
This. The D is way too sluggish and can't make a breakout pass to save their lives...
As long as Murray keeps the Richie line together and takes Halpern off the top line, ill give him the benefit of the doubt that he somewhat knows what he is doing
The lack of another puck moving defenseman is a glaring need right now. Plus everyone looks tired. Zues doesn't look the same. Brown is beat up. Quick is worried about his new kid. Modin's cooled off. Frolov is MIA. Smyth skates with blocks of cement on his skates.
