He shouldn't be it looked like an accident. Didn't Clarkson even say he thought it was an accident?

If they do suspend him it'll be because of his history not on what he actually did

While it was an accident that he clipped Clarkson in the face, if you're going to have your stick up that high, you take your chances.

I won't be surprised to see him sit for a game or two. Partly for the action, mostly for the name and history.

Yeah he doesn't exactly have a clean record.

Looked like an accident, but he will not get the benefit of doubt here. He shouldn't have had his stick up high.

Hopefully JVR is good to go Thursday, Otherwise I could see us running 7 d men, rather than making a call up

Homer is 100% against making a callup. I guess he'd rather Cote play top 9 then get a phantom in there.

Our Sr VP was on OTR with Lansberg last night and stated that Colie Campbell is not consistent at all. He wondered what happened to the big 20-25 game suspensions that Downie and Boulerice recieved? He believed that the Cooke-Richards hits were similar but Richards was looking for Booth's shoulder. He did say Mike may have been able to avoid the hit altogether and that headshots need to be removed from the game. No questions asked in regards to Carcillo but Lansberg did ask about Downie. Clarke basically said we needed a defenseman and Tampa had "time to wait for Downie." I believe Clarkie may be on again on Wednesday.

Bob McKenzie said if it was a non repeat offender he doesn't believe a suspension would happen but that Carcillo would get suspended because of his history.

With a match penalty, don't they have to have a hearing ????

NO WAY he gets suspended for that. NHL just going through the motions.

Match penalties have automatic reviews. And they'll be harsh in dangerous stick infractions, there just haven't been as many it seems. Mattias Ohlund got suspended a couple years ago for 4 games for a slash -- and that's a guy with zero history. You can't compare these to hits like those, they're looked at in a different light.

I also still have to see the replay, but this is so friggin' retarded. He got a match penalty because of "an intent to injure". Doesn't the fact that it as unintentional kinda negate that, regardless of history?

Don't worry, I know that question is rhetorical. I fully expect him to get 5 games.

Reading between the lines. Stevens could not coach Downie on NHL level.

Did Briere get suspended for his jumping crosscheck against the Avalanche? He did right? If he did I feel I can accept this being done to Carcillo, considering Briere isn't a agitator like Carcillo with a reputation (though Briere might be known for being a little dirty?). However, I believe what Briere did is worse than what Carcillo did. Though I saw the altercation happen I didn't actually see Carcillo's stick hit him, but from descriptions it wasn't as bad as Briere's flying cross check to the neck.

I know he says that in the article, but in the postgame interview he definitely said he thought it was an accident. I guess he changed his story.
