I'm curious if St. Cloud State can finally get that first NCAA win in what is almost a home game for them; especially after continuing to end up in one of the eastern regionals year after year.
SCSU should get to the Frozen Four, but I would expect anything past that at all. I still think Michigan will pull through their region as well. Miami is overrated.
I'll be there in my usual seats, but the groupings in this region aren't exactly inspiring. I'll probably end up not going to the semi's and just going to the final.
BTW, am I the only one who finds it a little ironic that Bemiji St. was the 16th overall seed last year and now they are a #2 seed?? Things that make you go hmmm
Wow, RIT pulls off a major upset on Denver with a 2-1 victory. That continues the trend of the team losing the Final Five third place game loses in the first round and Atlantic Hockey knocking off the number two team in the tourney. Still no word yet on whether or not CC fans will flood the RIT book store to buy tons of Tigers jerseys.
At the same time, SCSU is up 1-0 on Northern Michigan at the X.
Miami leads Alabama-Huntsville 1-0 after 1. This would be a great upset if the Chargers could pull it off, not just on the 1-16 level but for the fact the CCHA turned down UAH's application to join the conference.
RIT (yes, RIT) and Wisconsin (ending SCSU's magical run) are Frozen Four bound while North Dakota loses to Yale, Michigan beats Bemidji State and Miami beats Alabama-Huntsville.
Ford Field Frozen Four:
BC vs. Miami
Wisconsin vs. RIT
Somewhere the guys in charge are off crying after Michigan lost to Miami in OT. It would have been so much easier to sell out Ford Field if the Wolverines were in it rather than the idea of an underdog in RIT.
