I think we are seeing the major call ups, though I thought Ferriero would have been in the mix personally and still might go in for Ortmeyer at some point in the playoffs. Couture has been a consistent call up and been better each time. I see him slotted for 3rd line duty in the playoffs. Staubitz will sit and we end up with a smokin fast 4th energy line.

Demers is the other one that has earned his call up and I expect to see him play at some point, and I have him over Huskins ... though I suspect he is out and Huskins in when the playoffs start. Leach is the guy who will be least seen, if at all on defense. Depends on health and injury.

Dany Heatley - Joe Thornton - Devin Setoguchi
Patrick Marleau - Joe Pavelski - Ryane Clowe
Manny Malhotra - Logan Couture - Jed Ortmeyer
Jamie McGinn - Scott Nichol - Torrey Mitchell

Boyle-Murray
Blake-Vlasic
Wallin-Demers

Nabokov (lets hope he can make it through healthy because Greiss is clearly not ready for a playoff run.)
Im diggin these lines Wine Shark. Jed Ortmeyer abd Mitchell can interchange and Ferriero. But I'm liking this one

Well, according to T.M., we should be seeing Demers soon; http://blogs.mercurynews.com/sharks/...-hit-his-knee/

Good job T.M. But, don't you think it's a little late now for any grooming of this guy for the playoffs? , No matter what anybody says, he won't have the confidence and as well no cohesion with whom he will play beside as he's not played beside anybody long enough. If he did, it was early in the season, quite a while ago. The fantastic coach that T.M. is, he's done nothing to help build this guy in he big league this season with just constantly killing his confidence by continually dropping him. T.M. has pretty much destroyed the chance of Demers being any help this playoff run, he should have been left up to play all season long as, or at least for the complete last couple months, he's proved he deserved it.

We always get shut down in the playoffs, we seem to lack secondary scoring when our "TOP" line is shut down. Solution? Roll three first lines. Seto Thornton Clowe should have a nice physical presence and seto can finish passes better than Mitchell (who is currently on a line with thornton and clowe). Then the already successful line of patty pavs and manny no explanation needed. Then take what seems to be the best part of the Worcester sharks top line (Couture seems to be the real deal and Ferriero didn't look out of place with the big boys earlier this year) and put heater in the mix it should be good (heater and couture have looked good on the same line so far and couture already has chemistry with Ferriero). Then a physical grinding line that could pot a goal.

Seto-Thornton-clowe
Patty-Pavs-Manny
Heater-Couture-Ferriero
Mitchell-Nichol-Ortmeyer

Give the guys that are showing the most chemistry and scoring the PP time and we already know our successful PK pairings.

Unless Staubitz cleans up the dumb penalties, not sold on him in the lineup.

dont want to get this thread off-track, but i agree 100%.

It looks like he's going in slow motion, while in reality, he is going extremely fast.

If marleau's speed is lost next year do to free agency, it will hurt, but with Heatley, Seto and Couture i think our speed will be fine

Yeh okay. Seriously. And with the main marker now going on Heater and Patty, um, can you really spell st round exit??? Be serious. We ain't going anywhere with that lineup above, keep dreaming.

It showed in the 3rd alone last night, when Heater and Patty were being further marked as Joe wasn't there. We pretty much sucked in the 3rd.

Thinking about line combos gets me excited for next year, i hope there are a few guys from the baby sharks that make the team.

I don't really care what the pairings are.

This team has lots of talent. It's grit and heart when the team faces adversity that matters.

On topic, I'd be more inclined to roll 3 good lines and leave the 'great' one for the PP. Secondary scoring and special teams have done for us in the past two playoffs - a 3rd consecutive time would be disastrous.

Rolling three lines works when you have a player that can carry each line. I do not have faith in Heatley or Marleau when it comes to carrying a line. Heatley is simply lost without Joe Thornton, and while Marleau and Pavelski make a good tandem, separating the big three completely is a bad idea. Heatley and Thornton must play together.

I was typing up some lines and I wasn't sure where I wanted a couple guys, but this setup is perfect IMO. That third line would be amazing for the playoffs, Jed and Manny work their ***** off and Logan would be amped as hell to be playing in the NHL playoffs, good things would come of that.

I dunno... Is that supposed to be a scoring line or a grinding line? If it's scoring, then I think I'd rather have McGinn instead of Ort. And if it's a grinding line.... I worry we'd pull a Goc again with Couture.

I think it'd be a well-balanced line. Plenty of grit but offensively capable as well. I don't think it necessarily has to be one or the other in this case.

My 2 cents worth:

Boyle-Murray
Demers-Vlasic *I'd like to see this pairing atleast a game or 2 before playoffs
Blake-Husk/Wall

Heater-JT-Mitchell
Clowe-Pavs-Marleau
Manny-Couture-Seto
McGinn-Nichol-Ort/Ferr
