That's about what I figured. 1 game for the action, 1 for the history.

At least it's not longer....

HA! If only ... right?

I don't see that happening ... We're waiting for them to bring Baby Boed up on a permanent basis from the Rampage

He too is quite the popular player

Well he did get his stick up in Clarkson's face, and the NHL runs on prior actions of a person(unless you are Downie)

Hopefully JVR is good to go for Thursday.
Otherwise our options are:

Run 7 D or a Call up(Pyorala preferably)

You still have to be responsible for your stick. Carcillo wasnt there.
You have a problem with the league banning blindside hits to the head?
I think the play results in a 4 minute double minor for high sticking. he was wreckless, he cut him, but I dont think it was a deliberate attempted to hurt the guy, and i dont think it a possible suspension. If it was the other way around id say the same thing. But if it was the other way around nothing would have been called. Its ludacris that just because of his name, a double minor turns into a match penalty and a suspension. What if Gagne did it? What if Elias did it? Probally at the most would have been 4. They need to call what happens on the ice, not who does it.

I do have a problem with the rule. Its rediculous. Because they arent going to be consistant with it. If this rule was in place when Richards hit booth hed be sitting., Even tho booth is a retard, like lindros and skates with his head down. He did it again and got rocked again. Thats his own damn fault. Then u have Volchenkov, clear as day, driving gagne head first into the boards, and nothing is called. The sens score, and Gags gets 7 minutes in penalties. If ur not going to draw a line, or draw a crooked line, then u might as well not create a rule. At some point players need to be responsible for themselves, and yes while i agree some headshots are uncalled for (cookes hit was blantant attempt to maime savard) and should be discaplined, others arent, and the NHL is gonna make the rules up anyway and find a way not to enforce it, or enfoce an invisible rule anyway. This new "rule" is a bunch of **** if u ask me. Crosby could stare at someones shoulder, headbutt it, act hurt and draw the dude into a 20 game suspension. Dont like it. Nope.

****ing ridiculous

There's so much **** that they've let go, and they're gonna jump on something so incidental. Not saying Carbomb doesn't have to watch himself and his stick, but give me a ****ing break. And I know Volchenkov has been mentioned already, but how the **** does that guy get away without even having a hearing? He had two borderline hits in the Ottawa game, and the league doesn't even bat an eye.

Volchenkov somehow gets away with nothing. He has been doing it for years. He has never been suspended or even fined for any bad hit he has had

you could say that most boarding hits are accidents if people turn late.

Guys I wouldn't freak out on the main board too much, you are just going to make us all look like whiners.

Carcillo is repeat-repeat offender. Bob Mckenzie said that someone with no history would not have gotten suspended, and he is right. Carcillo will never get the benefit of the doubt in any situation, and he has done nothing to show that he deserves it.

He has been better under Laviolette, but he still has to learn not to be stupid

No intention of posting on the main board.

My question is what if he was hit on the face but didn't get a tiny (3 stitches) cut? This is a case where the bright-line "draws blood" rule (pun intended) leads to an absurd result.

It's the same as any NHL suspension. If Campbell hadn't gotten hurt, I doubt Ovechkin would have been suspended, if Gagne had stayed down, Volchenkov might have been suspended.

etc

It sucks but it's what the NHL has been doing for a few years now

This league is just a big pathetic joke. I really wish some of the GM's, players, coaches, owners, chairmen, etc.. would really step up and say something about Campbell and Bettman. I'm sure every team in the league has been at the brunt of their inconsistent, bias and just plain unintelligent calls. (except for the Pissburgh Penguins, of course)

The league just reminds me of a corrupt and brutal dictatorship where you dare not speak out against the almighty Bettman lest you want to be fined and get terrible calls from the refs for the rest of your organization's existence.

Until all the big names of every organization in the league (except for their best buddies, the Pens) demand for Bettman and Campbell's resignation, the league will continue to be one big joke where playing hockey is not even in the top 10 of priorities in this league

...end rant.

I'm questioning the validity of calling him "hurt" in this case.
