Tell that to St. Louis or Gerbe. One is a great NHL-er, even against the much bigger guys, and Gerbe seems that he will follow in his footsteps just as well and both are small. Even Legein is small and he has skill running through his veins. In this NHL, if you are fast and have amazing hands, and even have no fear of the bigger people, it's worth giving them a shot.

Yea can say the same thing to Jared Ross also. Its pretty much hit or miss.

Like I said though, I would for him to be on the Flyers.

I like the signing of all these undrafted free agents. Gustafsson sounds a lot like Karlsson in Ottawa. And as for people ragging on the signings, two of the greatest players in Flyers history - Dave Poulin and Tim Kerr - were undrafted free agents. So, there is something to be said for going this route. John Madden and Brian Rafalski were also undrafted free agent signings. So, it is possible to get players through this method.

I was mentioning sizes of players, that's why I'm saying that going after Polacek wouldn't be a bad option at all.

I really like this signing by the way. The guy seems to have some attributes that should translate well to the NHL level.
You can dislike what has happened in the past that lead to the team needing to sign guys like this but no one can be mad at the signings themselves. If we can grab some bottom pairing and 3rd/4th liners from these guys that would be a decent victory. Homegrown talent is cheap and we won't be picking up aging vets from Free Agency to fill depth (though the team did amazingly well last offseason with Lappy and Betts.)

If the Flyers signed Polacek I'm pretty sure I'd need a new pair of pants. I'd definitely go out and buy my first jersey in years. My guess is he plays his senior season though. Who was the last kid to leave RPI early? Adam Oates?

Joe Juneau too. BTW, ever look at the numbers Oates put up? Something like 91 points in 38 games his junior (last) year when they won the national championship. Ridonkulous.

People need to move on......
Bruisers aren't necessary but big d men help in a conference with AO, malkin, Lucic, or just big guys in general.

Marcou, Testwuide, Gustafsson, and Butler are the only ones on that list to have signed with NHL teams. Riley has signed an AHL contract with Springfield. My guess is that Scrivens and Genoway are the only other ones on that list who signs somewhere
