If you have noticed, Stuart has seen a reduction in ice time recently. In our last 5 games decided in regulation, he has seen under 21 minutes of ice time in every game. In the previous 50 games decided in regulation this season, he only saw less than 21 minutes of ice time in 8 of those games. In these 5 recent games with a reduced role/responsibility, he is a +4. He has quietly been playing better lately and our PK is succeeding at an 89% clip since the Olympic Break. I think he's been a big part of that, as well.
The problem this season for him was that he had to take on more than he could chew. With everyone back healthy, he can slot into a complimentary role on his defensive pairing with Kronwall and have more energy to exert SH. He'll be fine in his role as a PK specialist and #4 D man, and I doubt they are going to disrupt something that has been working pretty well.
