Kane's future role?

Question for Thrashers fans as I havent seen many of their games this season. What is Evander Kane's future role on the team especially now that Kovachuk is gone? This season he has played LW primarily but I was wondering if they will switch him to C within the next couple of seasons. Being so young, playing the wing was probably an easier position for him.

I'm thinking 20+ goal scorer with numerous assists. Dunno about being switched to center. Who has also has good physical play and will put up his dukes when necessary. Great player, hopefully he'll wear the C some day.

I would say a potential 30 goal, elite 2nd liner/ok 1st liner tweener guy if he goes and maximizes his potential.

i doubt he will play center next year. Antropov has done well at center(even though he sucks at faceoffs) and Pevs is a good 2nd line center.

i imagine we will see Kane on the top or 2nd line next year and he will be playing on the power play regularly, unlike this year

You really think an ok 1st liner would be maximizing his potential? He's an extremely young guy who can score, hit, play defense, play on the pk, and I have a feeling he'll become quite good on the PP. He's very small now compared to what he will be when he fills out and I think he's going to consistently get better for years.

In 4 years I think he has the potential to be a defensively responsible 40 goal scorer and a real leader for the team.

Good 2nd liner would be a bust for him.

he's more of an all around good player than a goal scorer. 35 might be his max

considering his goal production this year playing only 11ish minutes a game and zero on the powerplay. He should be able to hit 25-30 next year... i would think 35-40 in a couple of years

He's too good in the corners to put him at center.

I think he plays a lot more physical than most people give him credit for. Not in this topic but in general I could see him reaching 35-40 goals a year and being a great 2nd line player with upside.

EXACTLY. He could be a nice supplemental first liner for playing beside a superstar. Could you imagine him on the wing of a Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos or even Semin/St. Louis? With something like that, I could see him scoring 35-40 goals and 50-55 assists.

i think our new team concept, with having three lines of 2nd liners, is the perfect place for him. i envision a line with peverley and either little or bergfors as our 2nd line next year. that would be a very good 2nd line.
