Well, we just saw garon's weakness. His lateral movement was terrible and he got lit up on the quick shot .

Too bad Bartovic wasn't an all star. I don't think anyone could touch him in this event. NHL and AHL both.

Bourque almost broke 100 MPH on a slapper.. most of them are averaging around 90 and he's a rookie .

What a move by Cammaleri on the breakaway. Holy smokes, he incorporated every trick in the book on that one.

Very funny indeed.

Wellwood skated the lap in 14.776 seconds. A whole .241 tenths of a second slower than Jay Bouwmeester.

Hell, Peter Bondra won the NHL competition in 1999 with 14.640.

i'd want to see that clock they used with wellwood, b/c he looked pretty average to me. kronwall looked much faster, and his time was slower

First .. being selected to participate makes a statement ..

Second big Jay Bouwmeester is a great skater and Welly's time 2/10 of a second around an arena .. Can the Human eye even detect 2/10ths of a second ??? Thats like blinking once or twice ..

As you said Salmelainen is a known speedster ... 14.762 verses 14.776 .. 14/100's of a second difference??

From his HF Profile

Tony Salmelainen - Talent Analysis - TIME : 14.762

In the summer of 2002, Salmelainen signed a contract with the Oilers and came to North America. His breathtaking speed made him a fan favourite, and he scored 14 goals in the regular season.
Salmelainen's most obvious skill is his speed, but he supplements it with an underrated shot.

Niklas Kronwall - Talent Analysis - TIME : 15.000

He is a great skater with good lateral movement and phenomenal speed.
He has great skating ability, hockey sense, passing skills, shot

Kyle Wellwood - Talent Analysis - TIME : 14.776

Wellwood does not have the speed necessary to avoid these hits.
His skating continues to be an area for improvement as does his strength

Is that really too slow ??

You do realize Salmo stumbeled and lost atleast a half second if not more from it, correct? He looked like he was going sub 14 easily until the turn.
