I hope Cleary steps up his game for the playoffs, we need everyone chipping in with strong performances. He's been quite disappointing up to now, so maybe some rest helped him.

I'm actually curious to see how Osgood does if he plays. Will he be the same or will he give Babcock a selection headache?

Good and good.

I thought Osgood would get more starts, but since we've been fighting for the playoffs spots it had to be Howard all the way.

Figured he'd get the Philly start. He'll probably get the game against the Jackets on the 9th too.

Osgood only has to out perform Boucher. Should be in the bag right?

Hopefully it won't be as bad as the last time the Wings were here - Joey Mac started in goal and gave up 5 in the 3rd to lose 6-1. Luckily I was pretty drunk by the third period.

It's funny how the casual hockey "fans" of Detroit are still in love with Ozzy. The last game I went to Jimmy started against the Canucks and let in a little too much early on. Ozzy takes his place and I'm groaning- next thing I know the Joe is unanimously giving Ozzy a standing ovation. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. What fans cheer when their starter gets chased? Yea our legit #1 is a sieve for the day and gets replaced by a vet who hasn't had his head in the game since the last playoffs. Now THAT'S really somethin to cheer about.

Then of course Ozzy let in something like 2 more goals shortly thereafter.

Eh kind of off-topic but I missed my chance to rant about it at the time. Anyway, go Ozzy.

Pretty sure most teams fans cheer for the goalie coming in after the other is pulled.

No doubt. Most other organizations boo the hell out of goalies that have won two Cups for them.

Stupid Wings fans. Stop cheering for Osgood!

Only 2 cups? Pfft. Expectations are higher than that in Detroit.

Clearly historical doubt is in play.

Only Patrick Roy won the Cup as a rookie starter.

Smart to keep Osgood in the back, I'll be waiting.

I have a feelin its gonna be a high scorin game hopefully if Ozzy gives up 4 we get 5 or 6 on Boucher or Caron or Backlund whoever da Flyers decide 2 throw out there.

OR

Maybe some1 tricks Ozzy in2 thinkin its late April and he thinks its the playoffs and shuts them out

16-6, 2.12 GAA, .918 save%, 2 so's.
14-4, 1.55 GAA, .930 save%, 3 so's.

Yeah, Osgood was totally a secondary factor in those two Cup runs.

Good grief. That doesn't even include his fabulous postseason play last year (15-8, 2.01 GAA, .926 save %, 2 so's).

There are plenty of reasons to criticize Osgood without having to resort to baldly stupid ones. The guy has been a major, major factor in the Wings recent deep playoff runs.

He has never scored a playoff goal.
