What a great comeback win. Another great game from Staal and Girardi. Girardi has been playing excellent since the game against philadelphia, and what a great hit he had on I think it was Stillman. I thought Dubinsky and Gaborik both had strong games. 4th line has been coming up huge and nice play by Voros on Drury's goal.

Great win for the Rangers! I can't believe this was their first win when trailing after two periods.

And that Staal goal was great.

And to comment on Joe's comment on Staal/Girardi being the best shutdown defense pairing, haha, that's terrible. Duncan Keith/Brent Seabrook in Chicago may have something to say about that. I know he probably wasn't thinking as usual, but still.

Haha yeah, I laughed at that also. Does Joe watch any other team but the Rangers? It doesn't seem like it

Yea I LOL'd when I heard that one. Come on Joe, you're better than that. Sounded like a Chico Resch comment.

My take:

Voros, Girardi, Staal, and Roszival stood out in this one; all had a good game.

Christensen turned the puck over everytime he touched it.

I don't know if Prospal knows what offsides is because he was called for it at least 3 times.

Parenteau needs to pass to a teamate once in a while not just dump and chase.

Gaborik is in a bit of a scoring slump, he really wanted that empty netter.

Keith Ballard owns Marian Gaborik just like Colin White owned Jagr.

Redden still sucks.

a) Parenteau played a great game. Made smart plays with the puck at both ends and set up a few nice plays.

b) Colin White never owned Jagr.

c) Redden still sucks.

Hal Gill I think

They took away the assists on the empty net goal as expected

Boston has 4 tough games remaining starting with Caps on Monday. Honestly, I can see them losing all 4.

I think Montreal is in after tonights win. They have 3 games left and 2 of them are relatively easy (Isles and Leafs). The other game is against Canes.

Atlanta has 3 tough games left - Caps, Devils and Pens.

We have Philly pretty much covered because we play them twice (last 2 games of the season).

I see Montreal finishing 6th and the Rangers and Philly as #7 and #8 (or vice versa) which means Boston misses out.

Prust and Staal scoring in back to back games. Amazing!

Infact Staal has a 3 game goal scoring streak. When was the last time a Rangers D-man had a 3 game goal scoring streak? He's finally looking like the Rangers blueliner we once thought he might become. We all know he is steady defensively, but I for one, was hoping for more. He's been showing shades of Leetch lately. Now he needs some PP time.

Huge win tonight, now I can relax til tuesday.

Postgame thoughts;

Kudos to MDZ, point number 37, and +/- is making a late season comeback, now -19.

Kudos to Shelley and Prust on strong games.

Kudos to Lundqvist for once again making some solid saves and keeping us in the game a few times.

And of course, Kudos to Marc Staal on a breakout offensive season.

I believe it is 1-1-1.

2-1 Win at Buffalo
3-2 Loss at MSG
2-1 OT/Loss at MSG

7th place is looking less and less likely, I might add. Though we would have a potential wins tiebreaker with Boston.

Not so sure about that. Boston hasn't been playing fantastic hockey and they still have to face a tough Carolina team, Buffalo and Washington twice.

Nah not really. 1 loss by Bruins coupled with 1 Rangers win and we leap frog them since we own the tiebreaker.

Honestly if Rangers get in, I see Philly making it before Bruins. Boston will have to play really well in last 4 games.
