locke was easily the most invisible of any callup in the past few seasons, i know he didnt get a lot of minutes but i dont recall him even touching the puck

had a wet dream last night.... Shelly-Prust-Weise as the 4th line next year...

EDIT: damn, didn't realize Shelly was 34 already... still better than Huggy Bear who was given a 2-year deal at age 38... disgusting!

I haven't seen Weise play much, but I like the little I saw and all that I've read of him! excited to see him up.

That would be tough on faceoffs! LOL.

I'm really pumped for Weise getting the call. He's the right type of guy for this time of year. If we're lucky he teaches the casual fans who he is and takes on some Flyers.

He'll probably play with Drury and Voros so that could be a good cycling line.

Meh. Corey never got a shot, he averaged what, 6+ minutes in 3 games. Everyone knew he'd need more time to do anything productive, as he's not gritty or hard-hitting guy - so my question is, why was he called up in the first place? Weise or Byers should've been recalled, not Locke.

Of course I'm not bashing the guy, really appreciate his play in Hartford, but if he wasn't going to be trusted with a bigger role, like PAP, someone else should've been chosen.

On the other hand, Rangers had won every game with Locke, so I guess it's a non-factor.

Good for Weise. He's definitely earned it. I think people are really going to like the kid's game.

Weise is an awesome player. I doubt he gets sent down the rest of the season.

Need to call up more players to ensure we do not get swept by Washington.

Yes, I definitely can remember seeing him play all forward positions for the Flames.

He absolutely deserves this. Kid has worked hard all year and played great. I hope he sticks with the Rangers.

Hopefully he stays. the Hartford games i've caught this year have got me optimistic. Looks like a good third liner.

Not sure if he'll be put on the PK right away

Let's see what this kid can do. Maybe he can replace some of the hustle and grit lost with Cally and Avery out.

Parenteau was given nearly identical minutes to Locke in his first few games, and yet he did enough to earn more playing time. Byers or Weise would have been the safe callup. The Rangers obviously were trying to hit the home run with Locke. That didn't work out. Now it's Weise's turn.

I really like these short call up stints for the prospects. It's worked well for Dubinsky, Callahan, and Anisimov. If Weise somehow does enough to keep a roster spot then awesome, but even if he doesn't, just getting a few games in the NHL is good for his confidence and development.
