ps What is up with this Meyer guy always ducking checks. What a chicken **** move by an AHLer.
Could someone explain why ducking checks is a bad thing?

It's a good survival trait, no?

Is it a macho thing?

Or something that only your player should do???

As someone whose played hockey for 20 years and coached for the past 5, yes, its something you shouldn't do and is frowned upon by the hockey community. You don't go low on a guy like that. You or the other guy can get seriously hurt. There's no difference between that and boarding a guy or clipping in most cases. The Neil hit was a perfect example.

Man up and take your licks, its the NHL.

Really, Sens fans?

I admit, the Islanders won't make the playoffs, they have a bad lineup, but you could you be really less respectful? You were typing like Leafs fans. The Islanders are well-coached, have a good work ethic, and did a good job this afternoon. Just admit that.

Even though I agree 100%, don't expect anyone to give them any props now that you came in here and said that.

I think its more about people getting mad and taking it out on the Isles. Don't expect people to be rational in a GDT.

Post game thoughts:

We **** the bed. Meh...it happens. Move on.

Although Montreal beat Buffalo...not all is wrong in the Universe tonight.

I can't be respectful with the antics Meyer, Sim and Jackman displayed.

Tavares and Comeau are quite the combo though, I'll give you that much.

You might be right about some past ethos (which I've never heard anyone mention before), but the way dmen are going down nowadays, that ethos either going to change - or - more likely - is completely gone. Past players have confirmed that getting hit isn't at all like what it used to be, so forget about "manning up". It seems to me that one of the top points of evaluation in defensemen nowadays is the ability to avoid hits.

Cheers,

Dan-o

On behalf of the Senators we'd like to thank you for 6 points this year. The Senators really needed those. Without them, we'd be no better than the Canadiens.

We could have been within 3 points of Buff. That's what hurts.
