Never get to see them play, but curious about a couple (only really interested in scoring potential):
Dustin Boyd -- once thought to have some serious potential. I've read some good things, but is he ever going to put up points in Nash? He can play wing and C I think. Potential for top six?
Marcel Goc -- With Wilson and Boyd there, along with Legwand, who fills the top two C roles? This guy seems streaky -- point potential?
Dustin Boyd can play both LW and C as far as I know. Despite playing on Calgary, he was always one of my favorite players in the NHL. IMO, he has top-three potential if he can improve his skating and shooting accuracy.
Marcel Goc has been flying under the radar for years. He reminds me a little bit of Marco Sturm. I don't know where he'll fit in once Willy develops, though?
I don't think we have to worry about the 3 of them being part of this team. All have capabilities to play wing or center, all have serious upside. I'd be surprised of you didn't see all of them on the roster next year.
For next year, Goc has more upside IMO. He'll likely start off on the 3rd line, but our centers are so fragile that he'll get to see some top 6 time. I don't see Boyd starting off in the top 6 next season. Goc is a better puckhandler and playmaker, while Boyd is more of an energy guy with soft hands.
But Boyd is a winger and a centre, meaning he can take almot anyone's place in the top 6. If I had to let one go it'd be Goc (not that I don't like him). Posted via Mobile Device
It is. Thanks for the responses. I've got Boyd -- debating whether he's worth hanging on to (45+ points would make him worth keeping, but hoping for 55+)
Goc is available, just wondering what value he's got. None of the Preds put up huge numbers, but still....
