Really?

I made a point of watching them interact on the ice last night during TV timeouts and before faceoffs, etc. What I noticed was a lot of talking between the players on the ice before they lined up for faceoffs. At the end of the play, there were 'good job' taps with the sticks almost universally. And during TV timeouts, there was a fair amount of conversation at the benches.

Watching them on the ice made me feel a lot better about how the players get along.

Even saw Richards and Pronger talking to each other.

Somewhere Larry Brooks is speculating wildly.

My favorite beat writer, SanFilippo, speaks up:

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA – Talk about the Flyers locker room and its possible foibles this season has been over-amplified, but only because the focus has been in the wrong areas.

The notion all season has been that there is discord in the room. That’s the wrong word. There’s been a disconnect, sure, but not discord.

These players still get along with one another. There is no driving force in the locker room splintering the team apart as some would suggest … and as their play in the last five games seemed to attest.
Thank god there are guys like SanFilippo that write about the Flyers rationally.

This one's a must-read.

I really think SanFilippo gets it more than these other shock writers.

It's scary to think he composed this from a hospital bed. At least I assume he did. He was hospitalized today with pneumonia.

Thanks for that CG.

I honestly believe the Olympics helped both Richards and Pronger mesh. Would I be pissed off if I was Richards and some guy came into my locker room, and start perhaps saying stuff about the team? Yeah, you know, I probably would be. But then again, I'm still young. Where's one older player may respect having a vet in the room, futhermore than younger players. Also I wanted to say, having Lappy on this team probably helps a ton. The guy seems like a class act IMO. Kimmo as well.

None of us have any control over what the media writes, just how much weight we let it carry with us. Personally I couldn't care less what they do off ice so long as they deliver on it.

The lesson being that he needs to cut it out and get his ass to church where he belongs.

Obviously he was delusional from his illness...these guys all hate one another and want to kill one another.

It's like the Hindenburg in the room. Only without the Humanity guy!!
