This team is poised for the ABSOLUTE worst case scenario... the only thing they couldn't do.

Finish 9th.

No chance for a good draft pick... no play-off experience... just the second best hand in the poker game.

Guy, this has been said so many times...we finish ninth in the East, we pick 10th overall. That's not a good pick? Hell, we can actually move up a couple of spots if we're lucky.

He speaks the truth. 9th Place will be around 10th Overall with potential to move down even more.

Playoffs or 9th place, I will be happy.

Even though our baseball teams will be battling it out at our little bandbox of a ballpark, Boston and New York will have a solid connection in cheering for The Rangers tonight. Please crush the Leafs. I would also LOVE the Rangers to get into the playoffs instead of the Flyers.

Go Rangers!

Please Rangers, if you're going to fail and not make the playoffs, lose tonight so we can just rest in peace.

This game is an absolute must win. It's either win the next 3 games, or lose them all. Please for the love of god, don't go somewhere in the middle.

You're right. If they lose today (in regulation), its is unofficially officially done. They will probably be statistically eliminated before their next game on friday.

Seriously, there would be nothing worse than to still have hope going into the last game of the season only to have the crappy version of the Rangers show up and ruin it.

Why does the Red Baron on the pizza box look absolutely nothing like the Red Baron?

Oh. And go Rangers, I guess

Yes, because the 10th overall is a bad pick amirite? Holy moly. Whats with all the drama lately? People pretend we haven't scratched our way into the playoffs for the last 4 seasons, like this is a new thing.

Anyway, Lets go Rangers! And I hope shelley cleans orrs clock tonight.

Yes, yes.

Convince me that it wouldn't have been better to sell prospal and Jokinen, and that making the play-offs (or barely missing) would be better than losing out and getting a top-5.

I was an advocate of moving Prospal at the deadline. As to the other point, about miss vs. make, you can go look through the thousands of posts that have been made on that subject over the past month if you want my argument. It's got no place in the GDT.

Tidbits from Zipay and Gross...

Same lineup tonight for the NYRangers. John Tortorella sounds doubtful on Sean Avery returning in regular season.

LETS DO IT

Pizza in the oven, rangers on the ice.

Callahan, Prospal will both net their 20th tonight.

Henrik will be back to form.

2-1 rangers. Good enough.

Lol, check the tampa bay board. One poster was wondering if the Rangers would consider trading Lundqvist for Vinny l.

The What should Tort's do List...
  • 1)Start the game with the 4th line. Yes, you heard me right. It's been our most effective line in terms of consistent pressure. Let's put the Leafs on their heels from the get go.
  • 2)Draw up a good Powerplay. If it's not apparent by now, I don't know what to tell you. No one on the powerplay has one iota of creativity. They need structure or they will fail.
  • 3)Let the players play. Don't get in their head over every mistake. They know what's on the line. If they don't want to come out and play. No big deal, they will be gone (Tort's has to make sure of it) before next season.

Haha, glad to see us all eating pizza after the pre-game pizza discussion.

LGR!

At the very least, I will enjoy my dinner.
