LeBrun-Trade-fest at the draft in LA

Pierre LeBrun tweeted this today

Quote:
Have spoken with half a dozen GMs today, sounds like LA draft could be one doozy of a trade-fest. Then again, we've been let down before...

I still remember the 2006 draft in Vancouver. There were a few trades and the crowds reaction even caught Bettman off gaurd....

See around the 4:30 mark

EDIT: The other reaction was the Tanguay to Calgary trade was pretty funny too......More Trades!

Iginla, Volchenkov's rights, Hemsky, Marleau's rights, Souray. I don't see it huge but maybe a little

I am really hoping for a big trade fest at the draft.

Also, others who could be traded: Vokoun, Kaberle, Sharp, Ribiero etc.

Half of Chicago's team to be traded, Philly's search for a goalie, everyone looking to improve their clubs, Flames need another shakeup?, Oilers trying to get 1-2 pick, Kaberle rumors, lots of stuff to be watched. Last year's draft in terms of trading was a let down.

I predict some team will trade it's first rounder and a second rounder to move up 4-5 spots.

Throw in Kovy's rights, and it's looking rather fun.

Damn, back then Demitra was still relevant. They got a nice return and it had the crowd buzzing

Kaberle and Ribeiro for sure.

I expected some garbage players from Oilers to be dealt too - Nilsson, Cogliano, O' Sullivan. Boston will going to trade Ryder and Wideman.

I fully expect Thomas, Ryder, and Wideman to all be available this summer.

As a Toronto fan, I'm hoping this is true.

This being the first year in 3 years I won't be at the draft, and the fact we don't have a pick in the 1st, trades will be the only thing making it 3 hours of exciting times!

Carolina trades up to get Seguin

I expect someone to make a play for Andrew Ladd from Chicago as well.

lol, I was thinking something more int he 20-30 range trading up to get something in the 16-26 range. it would take way more then a 2nd rounder to move up 4 spots that early

With a lot of money being freed up, I have to imagine the Blues will be in the market for a legit first line player, and a trade at the draft may make the most sense. I dont know if they are ballsy enough to go into free agency and try and add Ilya or Marleau, may be a tad bit too expensive for their blood.
