It's a good list. There are a few changes I'd make, but towards the lower end of the list. Thanks for doing it again, Esq.

The organization has progressed very nicely in building a good farm. If we had one elite prospect, I would have no complaints.

Chad Johnson and Hagelin I think are the most improved.

Aside from how high Heikkinen is I like it.

First 20 I agree with for the most part...last 10 is to hard to tell, I haven't really seen many of those guys and we usually don't hear much about them.

Well with Del Zotto and Anisimov graduating I get the feeling still that Grachev wont be #1 next fall.

IMO Dupont, Weise and Hagelin should all probably be a bit higher but overall a very good list.

IMO Sanguinetti or McDonagh should grab that #1 slot before next season. Grachev will probably fall to around 4.

Sangs doesnt deserve the #1 spot. He isnt even our #1 callup on D right now.

I hate to say it but he looks bad and I doubt hed fetch too much in a trade either.

He doesnt look bad. He has been playing very well in the AHL and was ready this season to play in the NHL.

Stepan
McDonagh
Sanguinetti
Grachev
Kreider

That's my guess at the top 5. Of course there's also the chance of us getting a top 10 pick who would jump up into there.

I would go:

McDonagh
Stepan
Sanguinetti
Grachev
Kreider

It depends on whether we're measuring how close they are to NHL duty.

I dont think it should be the "end all be all" but it should be considered. That is why I have McDonagh ahead of Stepan.

Yeah, why not?

Stepan had a better freshman year than Kreider, and has had an outstanding sophmore year. Until Kreider outdoes it he is the inferior prospect.

They're two different players. IMO Kreider is a more dynamic one with sky's the limit potential. One year out of a weak prep league he's looking pretty good. Stepan came from a much more competitive program at Shattuck St. Mary's. Kreider's size and skating is better than Stepan. Between the two I'd choose Kreider. The way he skates he could be a power forward version of Mike Gartner.

two different beasts but Kreider is far superior and will be a long time nhl star. could be the next Mike Modano type.

Stepan is not even close.

Kreider is the best long term prospect in the system right now

Stepan showed that he essentially mastered hockey at the NCAA level and is now going to be playing professionally. Kreider had a very good but hardly exceptional freshman year and still has a TON to work on. There's no doubt that Kreider is far and away our prospect with the highest potential. However, Stepan is a much, much more complete player at this point in time. They are definitely close in terms of their value.

Kreider doesnt have "a ton" to work on. Guys who have "a ton" to work on dont play for Team USA in WJC. He had 6 goals and 1 assist against the highest competition he could of played in. The best of the best players in WJC. He is 1-2 years away and doesnt need to work on a lot. He was named to the 2010 All-Rookie Team. While Stephan is more complete, he also has 1 more year of college hockey in him.

It is always a nice problem to have players of that caliber in the system...

Kreider and not anyone else was the only D 1 player called up to play on the World team, he was also under age at WJC

He is the future nhl all star in NY

Wrong wrong wrong.

Ryan Bourque has about as much to work on as any player ive ever seen, will probably never see the NHL, and he was on team USA. Just a vastly incorrect blanket statement.
