sounds mighty hedgy to me..

"early" "preliminary" "without getting too specific"

ugh.

I'll believe it when I see him suited up and skating in game one...

If they can splint or cast whatever the injury is...Hornqvist will be given a pain killer and be sent out there for Game 1...if he can walk, he'll be out there...it's not a head injury...that's about the only thing that would keep him out...

if it's his right hand/wrist he's not going to be very affective.

Lol, after reading your post I was laughing a bit! I was talking to my girlfriend about this and now someone else has said it. Do you guys really think we should shortform Hornqvist into Horny?? hahaha

Anyways,
Glad to hear our 30 goal man will be playing come playoffs!

Willy said on the radio show tonight that it's his ribs. I'm not sure how accurate that information is but I'd rather it be his ribs than his wrist.

He's been "Horny" or "Horn Dog" for as long as I can remember. That's what the players call him too. Ignore the alternate meaning.

1) My question is how much power does Hornqvist really need to wrist in goals from the Holmstrom position?

2) He's not exactly known for his power.

you still have to be able to grip your stick with your lower hand. it's not like he's just whacking away at the puck he still has to have the ability to stick handle. He can still be useful as a pain in the butt in front of the net though.

I'm not sure that we think that might make us feel any better. I mean I can't be specific but I'm going to be as vague as possible and definitely most likely as noncommittal as probably possible. Thank you...no more noncomment and I'll believe it when I see it....

Hornqvist skated on his own today , but didn't carry a stick...What does that suggest to anyone? I assume there wasn't a cast on his hand or wrist or Glennon would have mentioned that.

Bad news bears. Ask BFC, he might be able to tell you more.

Casting would be for supporting a broken bone of prevent the joint to move into a position where there is pain. No splint or cast tells me possibly no structural damage possibly serious contusion.

Not holding a stick could mean a lack of grip strength.

Ugggh.... after reading that Glennon update, I've lost some of the hope that was restored when they said he would be ready by game 1. The Trotz quote, " I wouldn't say that" is really disheartening. Now I really wonder if it was the slashes or the shot.

This guy has been an absolute monster for us this season. I can't really express how much of a handicap it would be going into the playoffs with him not being able to play. I mean just in the last couple of weeks I can think of 2 huge ones against the cats and blues, both just a couple of minutes from the end. Here's to a quick recovery

Did Horny get injured again? somebody said he was missing for a large chunk of the third and Ward was definitely playing in his spot on the line with Sully and Goc. Anybody know anything about this?

EDIT: I just saw in another article that Trotz said that it was not due to injury. Nevermind

not sure I believe that about it not being injury related. We'll know for sure tomorrow.

Horny took a big hit in the defensive zone by Kopecky at one point. Face first into the boards. It was in the first I think. Then Trotz talked about an equipment issue but that must've been one heck of a equipment issue for him to miss most if not all of the third.

Glennon's blog says that Hornqvist was out of practice today....I think Trotz was flat-out lying about the equipment malfunction last night. I think he's injured.

It was an optional skate. Over half the team sat out...Hornqvist is clearly injured, why risk it at an optional skate?
