I was all for tanking a month ago. Now i'm supporting this. Why? I'm not being a bandwagon fan. The way i see it if the Rangers had tanked they could have started a new system with Torts and Sather fired and then the underachievers to be traded or sent to hartford. Now, tanking wouldnt get the Rangers a better pick, and I'd like to see them do better. Rangers have always been my favorite NY team so now i'm hoping they can win on sunday. at least that will put my mind at ease, whereas if the rangers lose i'll always think what if they had tanked and been able to get a top 3 talent.

Let's keep this streak going. For those who make the argument that the Flyers didn't give it their all today think again. This WAS a playoff game for BOTH teams. Philly wins then they don't have to worry about winning 1 more game. Philly wins they have the luxury of resting their star players. Philly wins they don't run the risk of losing in from of their home fans in the following game and experiencing extreme embarrassment and disappointment. Philly had a lot more to lose by losing this game, therefore they must have given it their all tonight, and they did. Hopefully it's not enough 2 games in a row and the Rangers can win on Sunday as well...

And i know this might be wishful thinking but Toronto beats Montreal tomorrow and the Rangers win on Sunday meaning the Rangers would face the Devils in round 1 instead of the Caps...

I don't think Anisimov as at his optimum weight though. Every time he takes a hit I cringe. Maybe he just has bad balance or something

Whatever, he has looked awfully good lately. 28 points for a rookie is nothing to scoff at. I think he will put up 50 points next season if he can just do what he has been doing recently for the whole season

edit: btw, I think we have a really nice collection of young players right now. If they can all keep this up and continue to improve, we will definitely be a contender soon (hey that rhymes... sweet)

They're not doing better than what they're capable of, they're just playing to their potential. If we saw this effort every game we'd have 100 points. Then again if we saw this effort every game, we'd have a half injured team too exhausted to stand up at this point in the season too.

One more win and we send the Cryers home! That's even more satisfying than making the playoffs.

I agree.

The Rangers website lists him as 6' 4'' weighing 197 pounds. Dubinsky is 3 inches shorter than him and weighs 205.

Anisimov can definitely afford to put on some weight. I'd say anywhere from 10-15 pounds, ideally. He's a little lanky right now and gets knocked off his skates easily.

He will. He's only 21. He even said at the beginning of the season that he kept working out and eating but couldn't break 200 lbs. His body will continue to mature as he does. He's also learning and will only become a smarter player and he's already very intelligent and skilled.

Good luck on Sunday guys. LOL my butt off if the supposedly big, bad Flyers were sent packing. All the pre-season hype about how they so tough they were going to run teams out of buildings has evaporated, and seeing them bumped out would be sweet.

If the Rangers make it, the Caps are vulnerable and your team has momentum - would be interesting

My post-game review is a littl late due to the intensity of the game and the drunkl celebration that followed.

Few things;

Karma struck with teh 2nd, count it, 2nd, double minor high sticking penalty after the first one went uncalled. That was all Christensen. Not to mention the first one from Voros was ********.

Blowing the 2 goal lead has to be the worst part of this game. We cant let Richards have two breakaways on Sunday. The good news is, we got our bad luck with Rozy's bounce and Staal's giveaway out of the way.

Dunno what the reactions were on here about Shelley's epic fail, but I promised him i'd forgive him if we hung on to win, we did.

This have the feel of a playoof series to anyone else?

he wasn't star-struck, that's just the little kid being embarrassed that he was given redden's jersey.

Oh, and, a couple more things

It should not have been Girardi that had to fight Hartnell. Putting our 3rd best dman in the box for 5 minutes with 8 left in the game is a bad thing.

Staal almost got minored too when dealing with that little ***** Asham .

Great Game for the boys! But it was way too close, being we thoroughly outplayed them.

Thank God Gabby came through.

Time to bring our superior play to Philly, and bring it hard!

To quote my favorite movie Galaxy Quest,... "Never give up,.. Never Surrender!"

WOOOOOO!!! Big W boys, way to handle our business on home ice.

One more win. It's gonna be a tough one on the road in Philly, but they can definitely do it.

Last year, We cost them Home ice and a spotless SHG Record.

This year we'll cost them a trip to the post season!

We must keep the new-standing good luck tradition of talking about frozen pizzas and Italian related dinners.

Pumped for Sunday. I actually think they can/will do it... but who knows.

I second this. More frozen pizza talk. If we make the playoffs, we should have frozen pizza-related playoff avatars.

What a game!! One of the best I have ever gone to.....and Ive gone to hundreds of games since 1968....the place was insane. MSG does a very bad job of capturing the intensity of the crowd...I was screaming at the top of my lungs and couldnt hear myself....doesnt come across that way on the broadcast.
