Will the Wings end the season with a winning record?

The Red Wings now have more wins that losses+OT losses

37-23-13

Can we maintain this down the stretch?

Also I was going to bump the thread last year about the Red Wings breaking the record for the most 100 point seasons, but I couldn't find it.

So my 2nd question is do you think the Red Wings can keep alive their streak of 100 point seasons?

Yes and.... I'll say yes.

With 20 games to go, the Wings had 70 points. They went 7-2-1 in their next 10 and earned 15 points to get to 85. If they duplicate that in their last 10, they'll hit 100 points on the nose. With the win tonight, they need to go 6-2-1 the rest of the way. Opponents are:

Minnesota
Nashville x2
Edmonton
Columbus x3
Philadelphia
Chicago

(5 at home, 4 on the road)

I can see 6 wins out of that, given the Wings current level of play.

Yes and maybe (but leaning towards a little less than 100)

If the Wings keep playing like they do, I can see them getting 100 points, especially with the opponents they face (Nashville and Columbus make up 5 of the remaining games).

If I had to choose, once they secure a playoff spot, I would be fine if Ozzy gets starts, just to let Jimmy rest up until the playoffs start. Forget the 100 points if the players can get some rest before the playoffs.

Thats the key, and with the race the Wings are in, I bet they continue. 6-2-1 is quite reachable.

I'm not a fan of the "rest" factor. At least not in the sense of sitting games out. Cut back on skaters minutes in the last couple games if a playoff spot is secured, sure, but keep guys in the swing of things. Keep dressing them, Howard included. They're in a groove right now, and I'd rather see that carry through to the playoffs than see it get messed up.

They need 4 wins to get 41 wins to at least break even (.500)...I can see that over the final 9 games.

At worst I see them at 95 points but with how they've been able to close games, I can see them getting 6 wins out of the final 9 to get them near that 100 point mark. Granted, it would be a cheap 100 points considering all the "loser points" they picked this season. The great thing about playoff hockey...NO SHOOTOUTS!

The thing I like seeing in the standings is that they're closer to 5th place (3 points) than Calgary is to them in 9th place (4 points). This team is getting hot at the right time and no matter where they end up in the standings, you have to consider them a threat to get back to the finals.

A couple weeks ago I thought we had no shot at hitting tripple digits, but now I believe!

And yes to the first question aswell. As long as Lidstrom is here, the Wings will be in the post season.

Ok, I take back my original statement- with 6 games to go, they need 6 points to hit 100... If they go .500, they're in.

So yes, I do think they will hit 100 points!

I wasn't expecting a 6 game winning streak. Not only can the Wings get 100 points (which is ****ing brilliant), but they have an outside shot at the Division title. It's not that important, but hey anything we can win is nice.

Well, they proved me wrong. 100 points!! That's an amazing feat. Not only were they struggling to make the playoffs, but 100 points was inconceivable at one point. Thanks to this nice streak at the end of the season, we are now 6th overall in the league.

Well done Red Wings. You really made us proud. Now top it off with a nice Stanley Cup and make my summer!
