So, who exactly do we want?

We can play Phoenix, Vancouver, San Jose, or Chicago. It all comes down to tomorrow and how the rest of the teams play. If Nashville loses tonight in regulation, we'll either play Phoenix or Vancouver.

I'm going with Phoenix just for the fact it'll be much easier for a young team to play their first playoff game in Phoenix than in Vancouver or Chicago.

I want Phoenix
I would be okay with Vancouver.
I would be somewhat happy with San Jose.
I would dread going against Chicago.

Vancouver. Decimated by injuries.

Feeling is mutual. Your guys sure aren't playing like that's what they want, though. At least, not in the shootout.

Looks like Detroit for us and Vancouver or worse for you guys. It didn't have to be that way -- both our teams are to blame I'm afraid.

I say our best chances are against the Yotes. We know them and we could beat them.

Vancouver is tempting because of their current injuries. Throw in a lack of discipline and a shaky Luongo, it has the makings of an upset. Then I remember Quick is far more shakier, so never mind. Against a Canadian team too - generate more buzz for the organization.

San Jose is always tough for us. We always need to play perfect and depend on Nabakov choking for a game or two. Frolov-Handzus-Simmonds could be reunited to play against Big Joe.

Chicago? Forget it.

I have Chicago in the finals. I'd like to see LA play the nucks.

Before the 8-3 route I'd have said the same thing, but they are a beat up team. Yes they beat us 3 times this season but they were all games early in the season, the most recent being december 14th. 4 months is a long time for this team. Rather them than Chicago, San Jose's a wash as we really don't know what sharks team will show up this year, Phoenix before the others.

Plus: they are 19-20-1 on the road, the only playoff team with record less than 0.500 on the road.

What are you talking about, injuries, nucks?
03/06/10 Willie Mitchell D Concussion IR. Out indefinitely
01/19/10 Alexandre Bolduc C Shoulder IR. Out indefinitely
04/06/10 Ryan Johnson C Foot Out for the season
04/11/10 Shane O'Brien D Undisclosed Questionable for Western Conference quarterfinals

It doesn't look very serious, does it?

All of those losses earlier in the season where we said they would come back to haunt us... have come back to haunt us.

One in particular is the one where Erat dragged Quick away for his teammate to shoot at a wide open goal and LA ended up losing to Nashville by one. those points would be amazing right now.

Lauren Ambrose coming to my front door...wearing nothing but a fur coat and a note from my girlfriend saying "Have a good time..."...

Oh yeah...I voted Vancouver...

Until this team starts winning some 50/50 battles along the boards, they're not going very far.

It's not just Quick. I don't like the way the whole team is playing. It seems like they think that there is a switch that they'll turn on. Maybe they have that switch, but, a playoff series has a way of getting away from a team real fast, if they're not ready from the opening face-off.

Some of the players on this team have won a cup, but they were with other teams. Some players have been to the finals, but with other teams. Some players have been to the playoffs multiple times, but with other teams. The most important players on the team have never played in a playoff game. There is no picking who you want to see in the playoffs in that type of situation. I'm interested to see how this current version of the Kings reacts to the intensity of a real playoff game. Because over the last 3 weeks or so, they haven't been doing too well in even important regular season games.

Honestly, what does it matter? This team is out in 5, 6 tops with Quick in goal.

You now realize I've seen about 90% of the playoff teams say this on their boards.

Like every single team has said, 'This team is out in 5, 6 if our goalie plays terribly', etc, etc.

HF Boards sure has pessimistic people except for the Capitals.

Yeah, cause they'll score 10 if they have to.

This is one of the main reasons I picked Vancouver. Phoenix comes a close 2nd for me.. very very close, but Vancouver has the worse record.
