Scroll up from your post a little and you will see where Giguere fits.
Also nice assessment RECsguy. I know in Anaheim Giguere didn't want D men blocking shots, and while I'm a zillion light years from being an NHL goalie, I agree.
If a player can block it with his body maybe...but most attempt to block with the stick just cause redirections a goalie cannot anticipate, or blocks the goalies view of the release, which is huge.
Then of course you get the guys who block but standing between the shooter and goalie, and then flamingo so they don't get hit
Also interesting is Giguere gets better the more shots he faces.
I personaly maintain his struggles the last two seasons are in large part to not getting in enough playing time. The more he plays (within reason) the better he gets, and after his Father's passing, he hasn't gotten the steady starts he used to get, to allow him to get back on track. I understand the need to give Gusto work, but honestly I would have prefered a 2-1 rotation for Giguere.
Especialy since the Leafs are not in any real race, it could have allows Jiggy time to get into his groove again.
I'd also like to see him start the last game against Montreal, which as it stands now will be Gustavsson's start.
btw if I haven't said it before, thanks for all your work on this PlayerToBe. This is very cool and far better than the usual way people post stats.
