Well, I would've preferred Buffalo, but this is better than New Jersey at least.
I dunno, I think we could take NJ. Washington...our defence has way too many holes in it. Hammrlik has just plain sucked since the second half, Spacek is...meh. MAB can only go so far before becoming the gaff machine he is usually. Our offense is going to have to be insane to keep up. If we actually were good defensively (like super solid), then maybe a JM system could shut them down.
not like any of our opponents would have been a walk in the park. you can hope miller is tired, you can hope brodeur is tired, you can hope to stop sid, you can hope to stop OV. for real, any of those options this playoffs is pretty much balanced. every team has that main weapon they've relied on. i don't think we were any more or less likely to stop any one more than the other. we've done well against each team this season. and we have a shot at beating the caps for sure.
Exactly.Let's look from other teams prospective and what they fear about the Habs, probably our speed and Halak
I think we're better off then Buffalo and Jersey. Despite the goal differential we split the season series and each goal was technically decided by a goal (the one we lost by 2 was a result of an empty net goal). Theo is also much better for us then Brodeur or Miller. I'm not saying I give us the edge over Washington but between the three teams we could've played this one, in my opinion, is the best possible outcome. Problem is if we get through them we'll likely have to play Jersey or Buffalo next anyway.
