Just so happy it's not SJS right now

It'll be tough though, Hawks are an excellent team. Maybe Niemi can throw us a hand

Early thoughts

It will be very interesting series, and we are facing someone new for a change, Also hope no injuries.

I'm Fairly certain the series will go at least 6 games, so hoping for some good hockey and for us to come out on top

We got the best possible matchup on the goalie front. Not so great on the D, but tolerable. Bad on the forwards. At least it's someone new.

Im looking forward to this.
the 2-3 record looks bad, but Nashville let them score 4 goals in the 3rd period back in december

Plus, I think the Preds have always played good against Huet, not sure about Niemi.

It will be nice to lose to someone new in the first round [setting expectations low]

Outside of PHX, I would've picked Chicago. Our best chance is the Rinne is red hot, and Niemi struggles. Of all the goalies we could've faced, I think Niemi has the most potential to struggle. I was still hoping for PHX (eventhoguh Bryz is better), because Chicago has way more talent everywhere else.

Is Cambell going to be out?

it is funny how many wanted this series, but i think now people will realize chicago has played well down the stretch here. 6-3-1 last ten, same us. but that is misleading since they had won six in a row before today. before today, not allowing more than 2 goals a game in their last six. averaging over 4 goals a game coming into today. they are clearly a better team high end forward wise. we have no match for kane toews, hossa. where we can steal this series is on special teams and taking advantage of their bottom d pair. to me, niemi and rinne is a wash and top two d-par is a wash.

Which jerseys will the Predators be wearing at home? Is it automatically assumed to be the regular homes or the thirds (the new homes for next season).

I think goaltenders are rarely a wash over the course of a 7 game series.

Both are big question marks at this point. Both have played well down the stretch, and both have never played a playoff game. I think Rinne will have to be considerably better than Niemi for us to have a chance, because he's going to be tested a lot more.

Offensnively, we have to hope for players to step up. It will be intersting to see if Hornqvist and Wilson can produce. If I'm Trotz, I give them a lot of opportunities. Our status quo (Arnott, Sullivan, Lewgand, Dumont) have not been able to up their games in the PO's in the previous attempts.

It's up to you all if you want to do what I am doing, but I am listening to the Blackhawks goal song a few times each day until Wednesday so my ear drums develop an immunity to it.

another odd aspect of this series is we haven't seen each other in 3 1/2 months. we haven't played them without campbell, with or without johnson, a healthy hossa or bolland. they haven't played us with wilson, a better pk with boyd, pekka with the #1 confidence. lots of unknowns, which is strange for a divisonal playoff matchup

Stop the madness!

I do wonder what will happen if it is a blow out. Will it be P8kka?

We are the only team in the league to finish this season with even goals for/against. Interesting.

The schedules should be out by tonight. The networks have to bid on each series. I know Versus will show most of the American ones but CBC & TSN have to alternate for rights in Canada.

My brother dated Trotz's daughter for a little bit so now I have a "Keep the Predators in Nashville" shirt and a bunch of other Nashville stuff, which I think is pretty cool. I've always had a soft spot for them for this reason, so I wish you good luck. Go Hawks.
