That was a sick deal, dunno what more Burke wants.

As has been mentioned in another thread where this proposal came up, what makes you think the Red Wings will trade their first round pick from 2009 and this year's first? Makes no sense.

I hope you lost some teeth.

And then went hope to think up some original material.

i saw this from a guy named cameron on another forum and I LIKE IT. Since this is already a leaf homer area, ill post it here. pce
1st. Who is Ryan Kessel? Second, if you mean PHIL Kessel, why the **** are we trading him for Clarkson and the rights to Paul Martin?

Why would be trade Kaberle + for an unproven back. The rest are just not very fair at all, for the other teams.

Kabs list of three teams was Boston, Philly, Rangers. That trade still might happen on draft day. Wash has lots of cap space this summer and even more next when Kabs is a Fa. I wouldn't be surprised if Kabs retired a cap and wins a couple cups in the process. It's the leaf way.

WHO IS RYAN KESSEL!?! If you mean Kenny Ryan, then yes.
If Clarkson can be landed for a deal like that, he isn't going to be dangled for something more. He's exactly the type of player Burke and Wilson covet, so he'd stay. Also, you couldn't pry Backes, Berglund or a 1st from STL's hands. Backes is a UFA next season (2011) and if he doesn't resign with the Blues, go after him then. The trade for B. Ryan makes no sense either.

Personally, I'd prefer the following:

NJD: Beachemin, Mitchell, Kenny Ryan
TOR: Clarkson + pick

DAL: Kaberle + Stefanovich
TOR: James Neal + 2nd

Deal Grabo for what you can
Sign UFA Paul Martin
Sign UFA Torres/Armstrong
Sign Adam Burish
Resign Gustavsson, Kulemin
Bury Jeff Finger, Jamie Lundmark

Clarkson-Bozak-Kessel
Neal-Kadri-Kulemin
Sjostrom-Armstrong/Torres-Stalberg
Orr-Primeau-Burish

Phaneuf-Martin
Komisarek-Schenn
Gunnarson-Aulie

Giguere
Gustavsson

you got yourself a competitive team thats in the race for a playoff spot.

in a non-cap world, i could see the lecavalier trade, but with the cap it wouldnt make sense for the leafs without even considering the fact that lecavalier has an NTC and wont move.
realistic if you put that + sign after Hodgson's name.

NYR and Philly weren't in on him. They don't have the cap space.

I'm sure it's the first time they've heard it.
