certainly not going to be easy. it never is with NJ and Brodeur.
Mandatory to get at least a split in NJ. No way can this team can win 4 of 5 if they drop the first 2 in NJ IMO

Boucher with a .931 sv% since the Islander debacle (5 games).

If you catch lightning in a bottle with the right goalie at the right time, anything can happen in the playoffs.

Odds on Boucher being that kind of goalie seem pretty slim, but at this point we don't really have any choice but to keep are fingers crossed do we?

Maybe it's because I was an NBA fan first (though no longer), I kind of agree.

Honestly, Boucher is EXACTLY the kind of goalie where you can catch lightning in a bottle. He's been a streak goalie for ten years.

If they bring the intensity and discipline they did yesterday for the entire Devils series, they can win.

How did Carter look yesterday?

At least his shot is still high and wide

They are going to have to deliver the puck differently to Carter. Stretch pass where he muscles off/burns a defencemen doesn't seem like a good idea right now.

He has been playing in front of the net a lot these past 2 games. I think that is where there are going to keep him, unless he gets more confident with his foot.

That's what we said last year. I'm not calling the outcome of this series. It's just too damn hard to tell.

The X factor is really Jacques Lemaire. For so many years he cut off what offense his teams had for the sake of sticking to his matchups. He is truly an old-NHL coach, while Laviolette is a real new-NHL coach. Whoever wins the series, their coach will have had a distinct advantage over the other.

Philly.com Article:

The good news is you get Jim Jackson and the fellas for the entire first round. And if you are in Canada and Newfoundland, TSN or TSN2 will have you covered. Everybody else, though, will be on their own. Compared to Washington-Montreal or Pittsburgh-Ottawa, the Flyers and Devils will be a rumor.

So by that I'm guessing TCN or CSN will carry the games locally....?

Newfoundland hasn't been an independent country since 1949. Good journalism right there

It is standard procedure locally unless it's an NBC game. VS would be blacked out locally anyways.

It's our friends here who live in Seattle, and Chicago, and Portland, and LA (I know off-hand we have posters here from those), who are going to have to be scouring for streams.

I'll have to rely on streams pretty much every game, I'd guess.
Living in Europe, neither the Flyers nor the debbies are a attractive choice for ESPN America when you've got the Caps, Pens, Red Wings etc.

Praying for the Canadian teams for a change this year... Crosby needs a first round exit, as does Ovie. But that won't be good for ratings so...
