Who wants to be a hero?

Call it now before the series starts so you can gloat or hang your head in shame later. Who do you think will be the hero if we succeed? and conversely, the goat?

as for my hero-I am going with JP Dumont. He knows what it takes to succeed in the playoffs. Has risen his game before in the playoffs. He is healthy. I think he earns his (fake) check here.

my goat-Jerred Smithson. If we lose, I think it will be because of special teams, and this guy's role is top pker. He also seems to get lost in the defensive zone, which is odd since he is usually a good defensive player.

Rinne: He has been HOT in the past 14 games and if he shows up like that for the series the Preds win.

Potiential goat will be Hamhuis.

Hero: Arnott, who is a known playoff performer and scored a cup-winning goal a decade ago.
Goat: Grebeshkov, who is a bad defenseman.

Hero: Suter- he has the ability to show he is the best player on the ice, bar none, if he plays Olympics like hockey. By the way, he was terrible on Saturday.

Goat: Rinne- if he reverts to allowing a braindead goal per game or wandering too much out of nervousness, we are cooked.

I would think something along these lines:

Heroes: Martin Erat, Pekka Rinne

Goats: Grebs/Franson(whoever plays), Smithson

Surely we are playing close games and in close games you have to have good goaltending and also be able to score, i also believe Marty can raise his game, well more hope to be honest.

As far as Greb/Franson goes i think Franson might be exploited in the playoffs and in close games you can't have that, alltough playoff experience for him would be nice. As for Grebs im not really sold on him and i think his offensive instincts might get us burnt a few times. although the pk has been better lately he is still in my dog house LoL, gotta perform better smitty

Hero- LEGWAND (just cause he's been trashed quite heavily here through the season)

Goat- LEGWAND (if he continues in this season's style + when we lose his name always seem to come up as one of the reasons we lost)

We will need to have several heros to win this. Rinne HAS to be a hero.

Goats- easiest to pin blame on dmen for blown coverage. So, Klien, Hamhuis, etc will have plenty of opportunities to get toasted by Chicago's offense. But, I'm going to go with Legwand

In all honesty, Legwand may have a chance to be a hero. We've got to shutdown/limit Kane & Towes and we've got to shut down their PP. He's likely to be in both situations.

I am rooting for you guys from the West. Rinne is awesome.

Rinne and Hornqvist will come up big.

Will Hornqvist be back?

Yeah last we've heard Hornqvist was held out Saturday as a precaution. I think it's ridiculous that we aren't playing until Friday but his injury is the only reason I like it.

Hero - Sullivan, he has looked like himself since that beatiful breakaway goal. The speed and strength of his shot is back.

Goat - Trotz, granted we shouldnt have made the playoffs this year and still got 100 points, if we lose people will blame Trotz.

Hero - Joel Ward (couple of GWGs and typical hard work)

Zero - N/A. Everyone will play up to par and we'll advance.

Gonna try this from a diffrent approach. I think the series will be decided in six and we will see a hero and a zero in each game. My predictions...

Hero(s): Wilson, Goc, Weber, Arnott, Dumont and Hornqvist
Goat(s): Rinne, Klein, Hamhuis, Smithson, Legwand and Ward

(Not necessarily in that order.)

Goat: definitely a defender. Probably one we expect to play well. I'm saying hamhuis, though Weber wouldn't surprise me.

Most on target prediction will be the double Legwand vote.
