Anyone hear about tickets for the draft? All I have heard is available tickets for season ticket and plan holders. When will they go out to the public and what are the cost of the tickets etc.
thanks guys and congrats on making it to the playoffs! Now I can't make fun of my Kings fans friends that you guys haven't made the playoffs in like 10 years haha. Hopefully next season it'll be Ducks and Kings in Western Conference Finals! Boy that would make Socal hockey fun.

The only way that you can get tickets outside of being a season ticket holder, that i know of at least, is to buy a bailey's buddies pack.

I kind of hope that Lombardi takes Kabanov with one of our many second and third round picks. The kid is a diamond in the rough and hopefully guys like Luc, Hexy and Larionov can straighten him out.

?? WTF? I would assume that draft tix are free. It they're going to charge for tix to be able to sit in Staples to watch a bunch of old men sit at tables and talk on the phone and then go up on the stage every 10 minutes to call out a name, they're CRAZY!!

Even if they're free, I'm not even sure I would go. If they charge money to watch this, very few people will attend. STHs aren't going to come even close to filling 1/4 of Staples and it would be embarassing to have the draft in an empty building.

The only way fans will come out for this is if it's free (or maybe tix for $5 max).

Only the top 5 worst teams get a chance at the lottery. In fact, you guys won't have a chance at drafting in the top 10 for the first time in 8 years!!! Congrats. Good luck with Van you guys should beat them.

All this talk of Kabanov is a waste of time, much like those who wanted Filatov at #2 in 2008 over Drew Doughty. Kabanov is going to fall out of the first round, maybe even the second as well. The kid has too much baggage and hasn't exactly done much with the talent he has.

That's not true

2000-20th
2001-18th
2002-18th
2003-13th
2004-11th
2005-11th (lottery from lockout)
2006-11th
2007, 2008, 2009 were top 10 picks (top 5 actually)

It'll be known after the second round. The final four spots are reserved for the conference finalists. In a wacky world (say Boston/Philly/Nashville all get that far), the Kings would jump to the 18th spot. Worst case scenario, the Kings stay put at #21.

Correct. As of today, the order appears to be:

1. Edmonton
2. Boston (from Toronto)
3. Florida
4. Columbus
5. New York I.
6. Tampa Bay
7. Carolina
8. Atlanta
9. Minnesota
10. New York R.
11. Dallas
12. Anaheim
13. Calgary
14. St. Louis

The rest of the draft order is TBD, but the Kings will likely end up selecting in between 20-22.

It's been so long I can't remember how the draft order works for playoff teams. Does it revert back to the standings or does getting kicked out the playoffs in the first round get you a higher draft pick? If it is standings then we are 21st... if it is playoffs then we could be 15th or 16th?

It's a combination of both, depending on how early teams are eliminated and where they finished in the standings.

Eight teams will be eliminated from the playoffs. Thus far, the eliminated teams are:
Ottawa
Colorado
Los Angeles
New Jersey

Only one of those teams was a division winner: New Jersey. Their order in the draft will be below the three other eliminated teams, but where New Jersey selects won't be known until the first round is completed.

Remaining to be determined are the winners of:
Washington vs. Montreal (Washington leads 3-2)
Boston vs. Buffalo (Boston leads 3-2)
Chicago vs. Nashville (Chicago leads 3-2)
Phoenix vs. Detroit (Series tied 3-3)

The Boston/Philly pick doesn't get bumped down unless they make the conference finals. If they get knocked out in the second round, they stay put.

Some names in the top 17 could drop. Dylan McIlrath would be a defensive prospect that would fit Lombardi's ideals. Keep your eyes peeled for Jordan Weal. He's ranked 30th mainly due to his size, but he's a player worth taking a gamble on in the 18-22 range. His upside is very high.

Hoping for Howden. Character kid. Can play all forward positions, skate like the wind, has size, adaptable game, and can score. From what I've read about him throughout the season, he seems like the type of player DL/Futa/Yanetti would draft. Plus he's a kid from the dub, and this franchise seems to love the WHL and OHL.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see us draft a big bonafide shutdown D man like Tinordi. He was the top defensive D man for team USA at the current u18's, plays nasty, and has great size (6'5"). Wouldn't be surprised if they're considering McIlrath or Johns for the same role. Troy Rutkowski (Portland) is another D man I could see the team targeting for the second round.

Toffoli is another player that seems like a DL kind of guy. I'm not as high on him as a few other prospects, but if our scouting team thinks he's good enough, then who am I to argue.

I also have some interest in Straka, but I doubt DL would pull the trigger on him in the first round. He might slide into the 2nd round anyway. He had a 'good' year for Rimouski, but the 'Q' factor and being a Euro might drop him a bit.

As for the college and high school players, I don't know much about them except for what I've read on the internet, so I'll refrain from commenting on them.
