I would personally grab marleau over thornton for the first round. I'd choose Bryzgalov over Luongo anyday but that's just me. Last thing I'd consider if I were you would be pick up OV... I mean 109 points is huge whether or not you like him. I personally am a bigger crosby fan but OV is still the best winger in the world. So just as a tweak to yours,

Marleau
H. Sedin
P. Kane
Boyle
Doughty
Bryzgalov

Crosby
Backstrom
Ovechkin
Green
Myers
Miller

Just some food for thought.

Point for a goal, point for an assist. Same for forwards

Goalie its 2 points for a win 4 for a shutout.

Ditch Thornton. Daniel Sedin would be a solid choice in his place (his PPG pace was behind only Ovechkin and his brother), but on the other hand you don't want to go too heavy on Vancouver in case they choke or something.

Parise is good but you have to take Ovechkin. Lastly I'd probably go with Pronger or Gonchar over Myers, just for their experience.

IMO Thorton should do well. Hes not facing a veteran team. Hes facing a young team with a defense that even their own fanbase would say is bad (atleast on HF). Round 2 is where the Heimlich maneuver will be needed.

My playoff pool team.... 20 players.... 1 point for goal, 1 point for assist. When team loses, you no longer get points for any players you have on that team. Most points at end wins.

Alex Ovechkin
Nicklas Backstrom
Alexander Semin
Mike Green
Mike Knuble
Brooks Laich

Zach Parise
Ilya Kovalchuk
Travis Zajac
Jamie Langenbrunner

Patrick Kane
Marian Hossa
Jonathan Toews
Patrick Sharp
Kris Versteeg
Duncan Keith

Joe Thornton
Dany Heatley
Patrick Marleau
Dan Boyle

3 east forwards
Ovechkin
kovy / parise (facing the weakest goaltending)
Crosby (though elliot might keep the score low)

3 West forwards
Marleau
Kane
H.Sedin

2 East Defenceman
Green and Pronger
2 West defenceman
Doughty and Boyle
1 Goalie in each conference.
What are stats that push for wins. Id say bryz if wins are a factor (prolly a longer series, but pick howard. trust

for east thats easy. pick miller or rask. either or will do fine.

Anyone else join the CBC.ca playoff hockey pool? I'm still mulling over my picks. If there's quite a few of us here on the Leafs board or HF we should create a group chat or something.
