Admirals crank it back up tonight on the road against GR...currently the 10th ranked team in the west,3 pts away from possibly being Milwaukee's first round playoff opponent. GR will now have Eaton and Kronwall on their 1st d-pairing. Gonna be a pretty good pairing you would think.
Evidently Burke Henry had surgery yesterday and is gone for the remainder, expect the Admirals to bring up a 7th dman form the ECHL(possibly Bonni or Martin). Not sure yet whether Yablonski(shoulder) is out for the season or not, should know today(Yuri Moscvesky maybe ?). Also Wyatt Smith hurt his shoulder the last game before the allstar break too, won't know his status until gametime....
Ads now trail Rochester by 7 pts for the west number one seed, but with a win tonight could pass Manchester for the second most points in the league.
end of the first 0-0...admirals stunk it up honestly, outshot 14-3...lucky to get thru the first scoreless...lucky because of finley that is...eaton running the pp for grand rapids...
admirals take the lead early in the second scoring a goal on the pp...smith deflects a hutchinson point shot
1-0 MIL 3:50 2nd (powerplay)Smith(18) from Hutchinson(30) and Hamhuis(28)
first admiral pp goal in 5 games, smith with 4 shots on that last pp,and he has 5 of the ad's first 10 shots tonight
admirals hold on to their 1-0 lead thru 2 periods....despite giving up three great shorthanded chances to GR...Tiley with one bad cross ice point to point pass,Hutchinson gets caught pinching on another...admirals give up way too many shorthanded chances, and honestly it's mostly due to the offensive nature of hutchinson you have to feel...he jumps into the play almost every time down,of course this is a double edged sword, scoring lots of pp points...finley has played strong thru the first two evidently
don't know if finley can hold them off here in the third the way things are going...admirals with first 6 shots in the period, then over the last 6 minutes GR has had the last 11 shots
they cann't...griffins tie it with 6 minutes to go on a fluky goal

crap ads stink at this
This is precisely why I said earlier in the year that shoot-outs are totally unpredictable territory. Milwaukee is the one of the offensive beasts in the AHL, with some pretty scary scorers, yet they choking majorly.
...won 0 games,lost 4 games
...made 3 for 19 offensively...worst in the league,both fewest and worst %
...given up 9 for 18 defensively...worst in the league %,so Finley has stunk too
