Brian Burke calls press conference

Essentially, this is about a possible ownership addition to the Canucks. While Abromovich, as noted, has not inquired about buying the entire deal, perhaps he is buying a portion of the Canucks?

Anyhow, rumours will no doubt swirl until tommorrow. It's probobly nothing anyways - but it's fun to speculate!

Heh, don't even joke! I'd hate that.

Then again, if he wants to come in as a minority owner and spend some money, by all means. I'd love to eat up a salary dump like Mark Recchi or something to make the Canucks clear Cup Contenders!

Just have Mark Recchi apply for Russian citizenship and you're in business!

It's probably nothing more than an enhanced deal with an already existing "business partner." My guess it's a sponsor.

It could be Arthur Griffiths' ownership group buying a portion of the team. Reportedly they wanted to buy the thing outright, but McCaw wasn't selling. Maybe they're settling for a portion of it *shrugs*
