not according to Terry, that's all that was said when they replayed that clip ... he said it happened later
I know what Terry said .. I just rewound and watched what was called. Arm went up when Niemi hit the ice ... Toots hadn't turned back into the play yet.
Kane should be ashamed. Folded like a cheap paper doll. That was not really that hard of a hit. Granted, Shea should know better, given the way the refs have been calling this one. But, come on...
Well, that kinda sucked.
Essentially, Hawks were able to execute their game plan to a T, and Preds were not.
So, Trotz and Co. have to get out their clipboards, review video, etc. The team, especially the veterans and leadership (I am looking at you, Captain Invisible) need to take some vitamins and try harder.
The worst Predators playoff game in our short history. That effort was pathetic. No effort to get to any puck, no hitting what so ever (save for stupid cross checks), no killer instinct to go ahead by 2 in the series. Trotz said he'd make adjustments, I'm still wondering what he adjusted. Sit back even more?
The Arnott line is a joke. And you know you are in trouble when Joel Ward is out as an extra attacker.
Well that was the easiest shutout of Niemi's life. Screw him and Patrick Kane!
Didn't notice Sully at all until he took that penalty at the end. Didn't notice Arnott at all except when he was standing around doing nothing. Noticed Klein almost every time he was out there for doing stupid stuff. Weber was bad in Game 1 and worse tonight with that dumb penalty. Hammer with the bad pinch that led to a goal. The only line that brought any kind of anything tonight was our least-talented one, Spaling/Smitty/Boyd. They played awesome. Pretty much everyone else sucked.
Oh well. Going up 2-0 would've been awesome, but did any of us really think that was gonna happen? We got a split, which was probably the best we could've hoped for. Game 3 is big now. Let's get it together and get it done!
Its hard to say. Kane just did what anybody in his position would do. All of this doesn't matter if our checking and shut down line is the only one sustaining pressure on chicago.
I expect a complete 180 in effort on Tuesday night. The crowd will be rocking and I hope they respond in front of the home fans. Can't wait for the game.
Really missed Hornqvist tonight. No net presence all night. Very easy shuout for Niemi. He bobbled pucks all night, but we weren't there to force him to make any second saves.
Game changing moment tonight was Boyd's failure to capitalize on either of his opportunities in the second. Credit Niemi with a great save on the second attempt, but Boyd has to lift that puck in close...
Too few quality shots, too many D lapses and turnovers, yet we somehow stayed in this game (thanks Pekka). The players passed on too many shots, opting for the pass instead ... too many of those cross crease passes either missed or were redirected wide ... total lack of discipline .... still no home ice advantage for Chicago.
I'm still confused about when you can and cannot hit a player from behind. I get that Weber's hit on Kane was a crosscheck, but it seems like guys are hit/cross-checked from behind ALL the time in every game and it rarely gets called unless the player getting hit goes down awkwardly and/or acts injured. I still don't understand when a hit from behind is a penalty and when it isn't.
Unfortunately most our fans won't show up for the first home game. Which I give us credit most of us sth's and hardcore fans for being able to make so much noise. I fear were gonna either have alot of empty seats, and as usual lots of red.
Just like not getting too high after a win, you can't get too low after a loss. So you vent for a few hours and get it out of the way. Tomorrow on the off-day you figure out how you can learn from the last game and apply that knowledge into getting ready for the next game.
Bottom line, no matter how pretty or how ugly any one game is in the playoffs...it's just one game. Just gotta keep the clunkers isolated and try to string together some positive performances...

That did not feel like a playoff game. I want to see the intensity ramped up Tues. You can clearly see some guys are giving 100 percent and others aren't.
NO doubt. I had already prepared for some high scoring high speed game. Blackhawks did everything they could to keep us in that game.
It should be a pretty simple solution for trotz. You can just look at the stats to see why we didn't score. It was so close. 1 goal and the game would looked alot more competitive. Not what I expected from the blackhawks in round 1. However I never know what to expect from the preds. I just know never to count them out.

Well mainly because our home game is Tuesday and its not even sold out yet. WHich if our regular season is any indication won't be looking to good. I love to be proven wrong about these things.

Completely agree. So little checking, on either side really. We NEED Hornqvist desperately. No one else is willing to go to the net, and I mean no one. It's sad really. I didn't see people willing to pay a price tonight...

Yeah I actually just went and looked. You can still get a pair in the second lowest price point (shoot once end, upper bowl). Sorry, but that's pretty embarrassing. Are the playoffs being pushed at all advertising wise in Nashville?
