Nice.
Just out of curiosity (not bashing Bobrovsky), has a Russian goalie ever won the Cup before?
EDIT: Forgot Khabibulin.

So what's the deal with this guy? What's his potential and where will he start with the Flyers (assuming the deal sticks)?

We've had 3 guys that got us to the conference finals in the last ten years. Nabokov hasn't taken a top level team there in how long?

Good to hear. Without any picks, Holmgren has been busy with these free agents.

Good to hear. Hope he impresses, but is he willing to start in the AHL? (maybe if Bodrov and Popov are there too....)

A scouting report on Bobrovsky from Hockey's Future:
http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/sergei_bobrovsky
Wasn't able to get the scouting report from Russian Prospects.com, but the one thing that all the scouting reports show is that he's kind of a hybrid stand up/butterfly goalie. He usually remains up right until the play comes in close, then he goes into the butterfly. He's also not an adept puck handler, so he'll usually leave the puck for his teammates to play. He's also not a wanderer and very seldom leaves his crease. When he does, it's usually to challenge shooters. His glove hand is above average and he moves well laterally. Perhaps the biggest issue though (and it seems to be a common trend amongst Flyer goalies) is that he gives up huge rebounds.
With that being said, a full season of working with Jeff Reese should help with giving up less rebounds. I really like this signing.

Thats like saying B.Hull could not take Blues anywhere.
That means nothing. I do not want to get into that but you seriously do not have a case.

euroflyers thought that he would because Bobrovsky's ultimate goal is the NHL, so he should be willing to play there to get there.

Fantastic news. Good to see this franchise might finally be willing to stock pile goalies.

Actually, it does mean something. Nabokov has been one of the big reasons that San Jose has not been able to make a deep playoff run.
I'll take a guy who might have an up and down regular season and good playoff run than Nabokov and his over-inflated contract and annual first round loss.

...and in defense of Nabokov, the Flyers NEVER had to face teams that were loaded like Detroit or Colorado were.
If there's blame to be had in San Jose, how about lobbing some at Joe Thornton and company. If there's ever been a player that's been given the benefit of the doubt for incredibly poor playoff showings, Thornton has been the guy. Marleau also has a tendency to disappear when things get tough. Nabokov's numbers for his career in the playoffs are 2.26 goals against average and .913 save percentage. Those are some damn fine numbers.
