Man that would be good for us. Especially for the PP. May I remind everybody he was our leading scorer on the PP this year, among Cammalleri, Gionta, Plekanec and cie!
That selfish play at the blue line really angered me last night. I see that as more of a bad play than Darche's. Darche was trying to clear the puck and unfortunately didn't get under it. Sergei was trying to show off and made 3 unnecessary moves at our blue line and then coughed up the puck leading to the 4-2 goal against.
Well it obviously happened before the sequence, but since I didn't remember it, I went to see the goal on NHL.com. And the sequence starts with a Caps receiving a pass outside of our blue line, probably from a d-man at the red line or own blue line.
The way you speak about it, I thought it was SKost creating a turnover by dipsy doodling prior to get out of our zone. I mean, even if he did what you said he did, and I do believe you, we had a chance to repair the mess since the play exited our zone and came back, we could have recuperated from this if we would have attacked Backstrom without giving him a chance to shoot. But we backed down on it like we did all 3rd period long...
But on Darche's play....I mean there was no recuperation possible....

That pass was from Sergei, he made 3 dipsy doodles instead of gaining the red line and dumping it deep. It was a disgusting play.
Hoping he'll replace Darche (Pyatt-Metropolit-Lapierre line seems like a pretty good 4th line) but we all know it's Sergei that'll be benched. He was pretty good for us last playoffs.
Anyone know when it was exactly when Lapierre remembered to play hockey? I'm trying to remember if it was before or after the Metro injury as after would have been when Laps was returned to center. I'm wondering if Martin might leave Metro out or see if he can play on the wing rather then risk disrupting anything worth while Lapierre has got going for him.
I hate to see people ripping on Darche, he gave an honest effort and played very well. He made one mistake and gets ripped horribly for it. He won so many battles and was a huge reason we won Game #1.

I see where you're going with this and yes, Lapierre did start to play better when moved to the centre position.
The problem is, this series has been brutal for the Habs in term for face-offs. The only one doing an okay job, has been Moore and he's barely winning more face-offs then he is losing them. Metro is very good at face-offs and the Habs need that desperately. So if Lapierre's play stumbles a little, and Metro wins some important face-offs then I'd say it's worth it.

I'd like to see O'byrne in as well, and MAB have a seat for a game. I think his size could help a bit. I'm not crapping on MAB, but he's really only out there in case we get a PP, which is a gamble regardless.
