I had a dream last night... We won our 25th Stanley Cup, so I'm very confident for tonight's game! Our opponent was Ottawa Senators

I need to swear to myself that I will not get utterly mad/aggressive if we lose

Hours after the game Saturday night I was still on the edge of killing someone

Varly gave up one goal that deflected off a Canadien, and another on a PP. Compare that to Theo who gave up 2 goals on 2 shots, and are we really questioning who should start?

It happens, when the goalie was winning by a fair margin and the game got tied. I'm sure there are examples. It went from 4-1 to 4-4. I don't know about you, but there was clearly a need to change the momentum. Put Price in.

Varlamov allowed 3 goals BTW, in less shots than Theo in the first game.

I'm not questioning who should start. Put on a pair of glasses, and go read the post I was responding to instead of putting words in my mouth. That poster made it sound like we were in big trouble because it is Varlamov in net. My response was to show that Varlamov didn't do any better than Theo in his first game, do you actually deny that?

Thanks shutehinside for making this thread.
My pleasure. Hopefully it'll have the same effect as it did before game number 1. If it does, I'll put up a pre GDT before every game.

Glen metropolit is back!!!
He is the most underated habs player in the roster tonight
Hopefully we can keep this guy around for a few more years cause he's
really a clutch when it comes to PP.

Absolutely, Varly gave up a total of 3 goals as you noted, but 1 was on a crappy deflection, and the other on a PP. When he is on he is lights out, on the other hand Theo is good for a respectable game, but his days of SO and being a brick wall, are long gone.

Be honest, folks. Aren't you less optimistic than you would have been if the habs had won game 2? Also, reinstating Halak doesn't add to my confidence. I think the Caps have his number. I wish Martin were as openminded as Boudreau.

If halak gets lit up for 2 goals in 2 shots then Martin will be as openminded as boudreau.
