During the 1999 season and playoffs...

Hey guys, I just had a quick question that I was hoping some of the Avs fans who followed the team in 1999 could help me with.

What were the typical lineup combinations during the season, and particularly, during the playoffs? Did Fleury play with Forsberg or Sakic?

If Fleury played with Forsberg, then he was on the left wing becaue Hejduk always played RW with Forsberg, right?

Thanks

Fleury usually played with Sakic. I wouldn't say Hejduk always played with Forsberg, although I don't recall the usual line combos Hartley would throw out after we got Fleury.

That team was great and should have won the Cup. They choked with a chance to clinch the Western Conference title on home ice in game 6 vs. Dallas.

Just look at that forward group: Sakic, Forsberg, Fleury, Deadmarsh, Lemieux, Kamensky, Hejduk, Drury.

To be fair the Stars played some phenomenal defense those last 2 games.

rychel

injuries hit the team pretty hard in that years playoffs, kamensky missed round one, fleury got sick in dallas, hejduk and forsberg both got injured by hatcher. plus the columbine shooting probably affected the team.

Yeah that entire series I thought forsberg switched his number to 24 with the way Ratvichuk clutched and grabbed and wrestled Forsberg and eventually hitting him from behind and dislocating his shoulder.
