Edm/det

Jonathan Ericsson in Detroit hasn't been good this year and I think we can get him right on track here in Edmonton. What do you think it would take to get him?I think Robban Nilsson or Cogs could work...

To EDM:
Jonathan Ericsson

To DET:
Andrew Cogliano/Robban Nilsson

Thoughts?

Despite the fact that they tried to trade him for Dany Heatley last summer I think that the Oilers are really high on Cogs - it's going to take a significant player coming Edmonton's way for the Oilers to trade him in a package deal.

When he's with offensive minded players, he produces. I hope that Quinn noticed that late in the season.

I would do Cogliano for him. I don't think Nilsson would get it done though but Cogliano and maybe a late pick might be enough. We need some help on the blueline anyways.

Just as a thought; I know Robban sucks with us but with all the countrymen and that Detroit seems to do miracle with getting full potential out of players. I feel the same with Cogs. (Ritola = Was a scratch i the swedish first division before Detroit signed him over)(Franzén was a good PK specialist with 3rd or 4th line duties in Linköping)(Cleary was a career AHL:er here in Edmonton).

I can't say I understand this thread. I suppose it's reactionary to watching him and the Wings in the playoffs thus far, but this was Ericsson's first full season and he performed admirably. 13 points, almost 17 minutes a night while also anchoring the 2nd PK. He's only 26 and the Wings need him long-term to help replace Lidstrom. I can't see anything shy of an overpay garnering interest.

I would do the deal--both for Erickson(just to get rid of nilsson)--however--detroit is VERY high on Jonathan Ericsson and I do not think they do the deal

Cogliano for Andreas Ericsson??? It's basically like just waive Andrew.
Ericsson 3rd worst regular D-man among entire NHL for goals against per 60 min with 3.32 while playing against 3rd/4th liners (-0.072), isn't young, ufa next season and his +/- -15 worst in DET. In ufa market you can find much better options.

26 isn't young I agree, but this was his first real full season in the NHL. Before that, he played in 19 and 8 games. Sometimes you have to look beyond stats. He's pretty big too.

You could do much much worst in regards to Cogs.

Yes but Chorney is 22 and after half season he's already bust in HFBoards I understand that Ericsson can get better with experience, but he isn't the second coming of Lidstrom and his 1st season wasn't that great to consider his trade value higher than Cogs.

Cogliano would score 25+ goals in Detroit makr my words. They would actually give him a chance to succeed, unlike the managment here has done. He scored 45 points on the kid like in 07 08 and for some reason MacT just had to split them up and put him on the fourth line. Thats why he hasn't produced as well as we wanted him to.

He deserves so much more than what he gets here. Our GM sucks, coach sucks, everyone ****ing sucks in this managment might as well fold up and sell the team cause we're never going anywhwere with the ****headds that run the team.

Everyone would say "what the hell?" as soon as Cogs winds up scoring 60 pints a year in DET.

No, not saying he's the second coming of Lidstrom. I usually don't comment on proposals, but Ericsson isn't that bad.

Chorney needs more experience thats all. He'll get better.

There is no chance that Ericsson is available. I've heard that Detroit thinks he is Norris worthy in the future.
