This is a nightmare, but I still feel better after this game than after our collapse in Game #2. This team is incredibly fragile both physically and mentally, but if we can manage to win Game #4 we're still in good shape. I can't say I'm confident, but it's not over yet.
Sucks that there's very little chance I'll get to see my favorite player get any action with the Canadiens again though.
If we're going to lose, I rather us put up a fight then leave quietly. I'm not blaming the refs, and the Habs are playing an awful game, but the officiating this series has been completly lopsided. It's pure garbage. They call Pleks for an interference penalty when Halak was practically bulldozed over during Game 2. I'm happy Gomez and Pleks are showing some emotion, Markov also.
Oh, and watching players such as Carlson and Myers, makes me wonder. Every other team in the league isn't afraid to bring up their young prospects and develop them in the NHL. The kids make mistakes but they learn from them. And their youth and talent brings some punch to their respective team. Yet, the Montreal Canadiens have arguably the best defenseman in the AHL and right now, he isn't playing with the team, all because we want him to gain "experience". It might help in the long run, but can we really say that players such as Roman Hamrlik are better than PK?
Because John Carlson didn't score an important goal in game 2.
Carlson played 22 nhl games vs professionals , in a team that has a weakness on D , we are in the opposite situation , if you think subban would do **** vs ovechkin , backstrom , semin , leich , then go ahead stay in denial.
What is it about home games? Cammy-Plekanec-Kostitsyn line is a minus-3 and nowhere near the scoring chances of last time out. Game 4 will need a lot more preparation and if we lose, series is finito. But getting to to 6 or 7, especially with what's gone down tonight would be incredibly resilient.
The worst thing the Habs can do in the third period is roll over and take this. They have to either comeback and make it close or take some liberties and try to slow down Caps players for future games. It sounds cut-throat, but it's the playoffs.
