Post your height/weight and stick length/flex

Just want to get a better idea of what kind of sticks people are using for their body size.

6'0"
175 lbs
56 inches from butt end to heel
85 flex

I was using a 100 flex for awhile, but since dropping the flex my wrister has vastly improved.

6 feet
130 lbs

60 inch stick
75 flex

I'm a real skinny person though, so I could honestly go with a 65 flex. The only problem with that is 65 only comes in intermediate size, and if I got an INT and added a plug it would be REALLY whippy.

6ft 4in

stick is about 61-1/2" if I remember right
Flex 100 ... I should be using higher than that, like a 120

5'11 180 lbs 75 flex, cut to about 56-7. . My style of play is basically Tyler Kennedy; hard on the forecheck, nice shot, and a fan favorite (shh). Though lately I've kind of morphed into an Ovechkin type, using my speed to get lots of space before wiring off a hard snap/wrister. I've actually been told that the way I hold the puck and skate with it is nearly identical to Ovechkin.

Nice. I'm a great skater (15 years on ice) but I never really had a scoring touch. Passing, forechecking, hitting I'm good at... hopefully an offseason practicing my shot with a stick whose flex is more suited to me will do wonders. Have the shot down now just have to work on the quickness and doing it at game speed.

I've played high level hockey my entire life prior to 'career' ending injuries. Now, I just play what is equivalent to D3 in Ottawa.

5'11'' 190ish, 60'', 85 flex. I like the whip action a flexible stick gives when you take a wrist shot/slapper. I can't stand really stiff sticks (yeah, I know.. that's what she said, right? LOL)

*facewashes you, then skates off*

I may not be big but I love agitating the bigger guys, or I did when I played competitively. Most of them can't stand it when a smaller guy does this and gets them off their game by chasing me around or taking a retaliatory penalty.

i am 5'5" and have a 85 flex stick that i imagine had to be cut down quite a bit.. i can't flex it nearly at all, so i am going to get a new one.

5'8 170 (~24% bodyfat)
75 flex (cut down 7" to about 105)

It's too stiff for me after cutting, so I'm going to try the next flex down, but 70 flex for me is optimal.

60" sticks 100 & 110 Flex. Hard slapper with these, but I've been entertaining the idea of trying a 85 flex.

Cripes we have some big goons in this thread .... I love it. The 6ft 5in 254lb guy in this thread would be a match.

You're a big guy too, we should make an HFBoards The Rink team.

Same as you but 2 inches shorter. About INT sticks, if you put a plug in an uncut one it would be really whippy yes, but do you cut the plug down? If you do, then its better to take note of how much you cut off the plug and cut that off tyhe stick instead, then insert the plug. The stick should roughly keep its 65 flex if you do that.

5-10 1/2", 185 lbs, 87 flex (Sherwood woodie, if that matters)...

Hey tough guy, I've had several collisions with people in my illustrious 3 month hockey career, and they're the ones who've always fallen down...

I consider myself one of the skill players, but clearly, you were not aware that there were players from New York on this forum, let alone Queens...
