Yeah, I agree. Probably 5-10 minutes in, as well. Laviolette changes them up on the fly way too much (my only real gripe with him thus far), but tonight we might need it.

Take this with a grain of salt, but did anybody notice the number of "we's" in the latest blog post?

Quote:
Yesterday the bus ride here was about an hour and half to the hotel we’re staying at. We threw in a movie, “Semi Pro” with Will Ferrell, to keep the atmosphere light. It was actually perfect timing because the movie ended as soon as we pulled into the hotel. We also had another team dinner last night at a different place than the first two times. We went with an Italian place, but I had the same thing as I had at the last time, some salmon and some pasta. I just relaxed for the rest of the night after dinner, and watched a little bit of the Boston-Buffalo game and fell asleep before it was settled in double overtime.

We need to come out with a big road effort here tonight in Game 5. We’re missing a couple key, important players in our lineup so that just means everyone else will need to step up their game. It might take a good individual effort from someone you wouldn’t normally expect. Hopefully we will get that tonight.

It’s disappointing to lose Jeff and Simon, but at the same time we are rolling pretty good right now. We feel that the guys we are going to add to our lineup tonight should be able to step in without any problems. We’ll support them and help them get adjusted to this playoff series as quickly as we can. We have the kind of guys in this dressing room that can close out the series, so we feel pretty confident.

Whether or not the Betts actually wrote the blog entry is another story

It definitely shows the type of guy Betts is -- team first. If the rest of the team is thinking we vs I, they could be unstoppable.

Will do. I'll be the blonde chick in a Richards jersey. I'm sure that narrows it. But seriously, if I go up to an Asian guy in a Gagne jersey and it's not you, you're dead.

Not entirely understanding the Laliberte move, I like the guy and I always have pulled for him to overcome his injuries and make it but in this instance I would have thought you'd go for a more defensive player. I mean we shouldn't be looking for the call up to really be putting up much in the way of numbers so doesn't a more defensively minded player make sense in that case?

Maybe he'll surprise me though. Here's hoping he does.

He's really a fat, white dude with a handle-bar mustache.

I don't like these lines. I know that it's almost a guarantee that they'll be switched up, but the only combo I like is the 4th line. Richards gets straddled with Carcillo and Laliberte, the second line is horrible defensively, and the third line looks kind of average to me and I think both JVR and Giroux could be put to better use in the top six.

No love for Pyro confuses me abit, though haven't followed the action down in the Phantoms. Wasn't he like "the guy who would be in the roster if the team wasn't so bloated with capable players"?

Pronger said he had not heard that but he had some advice for Kovalchuk.

“Talk is cheap,” Pronger said.

The Flyers, leading 3-1 in the series, can eliminate the Devils with a win at Prudential Center.

Unlike Kovalchuk, Flyers captain Mike Richards made no such predictions on the outcome of tonight’s game.

“I’m not going to guarantee anything,” Richards said. “I can guarantee we are going to come in here and play hard and try to have our best game in the series.”

^ Pyorala...

This was on Philly.com about a week ago:

Quote:
Mika Pyorala, who suffered a broken collarbone in Saturday's Phantoms finale, was at the Skate Zone yesterday rehabbing. Pyorala played in the Flyers' first 36 games before being demoted. Due to be an unrestricted free agent in July, Pyorala is being courted by Finnish Elite League teams Karpat and Froluna. If healthy, Pyorala likely will represent Finland in the World Championships in Germany next month . .

Devils goalie Martin Brodeur shaved off his playoff beard because his family didn’t like it and, perhaps, to change the team’s luck.
Crazy. Never heard of anyone doing that.

I shaved off my playoff beard because it looked stupid and then the Flyers won the next 2 games.

So yeah, I'm not concerned.

I think goalies who are not used to facial hair might get annoyed if the mask is rubbing against it. Break their concentration a bit or something. IDK.

Envious!!! I take it you're stopping over there on your way elsewhere?

I don't recall seeing a lot of TV's around the airport, but I wasn't really looking for one either.
