It was that close. And Marcotte had a chance in Ot to end it but the puck hit Dryden.

I'd say the Bruins would've beaten the Rangers had they meet in the finals, and who knows what happens after that.

First off no one has ever siad it was Stan Jonathan. Not even Don Cherry. Second, I still say the Habs would have tied it up with the extra attacker then anyways. They had GOD on their side back then. Plus a team that had won three straight Cups could still find a way to tie it.

But if the Bruins played the NYR in the finals they would have beaten them. NYR should have never beaten the NYI that year. Habs beat the Rangers in five so I'd say the Bruins woiuld have taken them in 6.

Now wait a minute it was never proven that it was Stan Jonathan. Even Don Cherry said he woudnt say who it was. Either way the Canadiens would have pulled the goalie and may have tied it anyways. Face it they had GOD on their side back then. Besides a team that had won three straight Cups could still find a way to tie it up.

But anyways if the Bruins had won against the Habs they would have beaten NYR. Esposito say sin his book he wanted the Bruins cause he knew that the Rangers would beat them.

Orr, if healthy, definitely would've made a difference. However, Brad Park, who we got for Esposito, and the subsequent and much more important Hodge/Middleton trade did more for the Bruins in the late 70s/early 80s than Espo could've, IMO.
